Recently, several people have approached me asking if the new model released by DeepSeek AI is “better” than OpenAI o1 for instance …but it´s not as simple as that. Surely, the results are truly impressive in some cases, but that’s exactly the point: Better or worse always depends on the purpose, task, and context, it´s really hard to provide a general response to that. Different models excel in different areas — what works best for you will depend on your specific needs and how you utilise the model. Someone will eventually always come up with workarounds to find a more efficient way of doing things - it’s the nature of progress. The key is to keep testing and continue to learn and upskill to stay on top of things. Especially in the enterprise context, understanding how to really tailor the capabilities of AI models to YOUR needs and YOUR business environment is critical.
