We don't have donors! Where do we start? A common question for sure and one that many organizations need help with. Here's where I usually start: 1. Friends and family: people who care about you will come alongside the things you care about. Ask them to give, but even more importantly, ask them to introduce you to people who may have a passion for your cause. 2. Board members: something a leader told me years ago is that a board should give and get others to give. Ask them to give something, but also ask them to introduce and endorse you to people in their network. 3. Volunteers: some volunteers do so because they can't give, but many will want to support your organization with time and finances. 4. Local businesses: many local businesses have giving back as a part of their presence in the community. This may be in the form of cash, but could also be gifts-in-kind. #donors #wheredoistart
