Celebrating Indigenous STEM Excellence: #NAIDOC Week 2024 As we come together to celebrate #NAIDOC Week 2024, iSTEM Co. proudly honours the remarkable achievements and contributions of Indigenous First Nations STEM professionals. This year's theme is ''Keep The Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud''. resonates deeply as we recognize the trailblazers who have paved the way and those who continue to inspire future generations. NAIDOC Week is a time of celebration, acknowledging and honouring the rich culture, history, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We would like to honour some of the incredible First Nations organisations we have had the opportunity to partner and collaborate with: 💎BLAQ DIAMONDS Women Empowerment💎 Founded by the amazing Melissa Drummond, Blaq Diamonds is dedicated to empowering, inspiring, and supporting First Nations women in discovering their true worth, their ‘authentic selves,’ and their purpose. Their goal is to embrace change to improve the lives of First Nations women by being ‘solution-oriented’ and delivering long-lasting results. Construction on Country Rechelle Leahy Aliethea Cutmore Addressing the growing demand for skilled construction and trades workers in the New England and North West Region of NSW, Construction on Country offers a transformative avenue to engage, train, and empower local women. They provide sustainable employment opportunities, introductions to employers, and both accredited and non-accredited training and development. Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Foundation (QATSIF) Michael Nayler QATSIF was created to give Queensland's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families increased educational choices and life opportunities. QATSIF provides educational scholarships of $500 per semester to support eligible First Nations students with the costs of their senior studies. This initiative ensures that the toil of previous generations directly benefits future ones, standing as a permanent and positive legacy. We would also like to thank Cosmos Magazine and Imma Perfetto for highlighting the stories of First Nations people making a global impact and use this opportunity to acknowledge the contributions of various trailblazing First Nations STEM women in this article including Alana Dooley Camille Goldstone-Henry Jodie van de Kamp Vanessa Sewell Kim Dyball Tamia Blackwell Gullara McInnes Lisa Sarago Renee Wootton Taylah Griffin Anastasia Vickers Jaquelyne Hughes Lisa Jackson Pulver AM Dr Cassandra Sedran-Price Crystal Arnold Daryle Rigney Associate Professor Linda Payi .
