DVA is not associated with this job opportunity. Senior Software Engineer, Organize - USA https://lnkd.in/gJn7b6sM Key Responsibilities Collaborate to understand the needs of the customer and deliver a simple and easy-to-use solution. You work with other engineers, along with design and product partners. Work comfortably across front-end and back-end development. We do not expect engineers coming in to know our particular frameworks, just that they have the skills and desire to learn. Balance technical considerations with product and business thinking. You aim for the best outcome for the customer, not for perfection. Iteratively extend our systems at scale. We frequently change our data model to fit new use cases as our product offerings expand while maintaining existing usage. For every software engineer saying AI won't replace engineers, I see a former product manager or BDR building a new full stack application in a week, in a language they don't understand. There doesn't even need to be layoffs, just a new generation of companies. Having started Mainstreet greenfield, I can't imagine myself ever hiring someone whose job is code, infra, or systems. Someone with the competencies - yes. They are currently really valuable. But I'd expect all of those in the service of delivering products - and that in service of advancing our customers. At some point, sure, there will be some software engineers left, but how many, for what purpose, and will that be relevant to you? Agency is everything. What remains important is identifying and solving problems. Most people should focus on that.

with all due respect sir, this post makes no sense. this is probably rage bait but i'll give my opinion anyways. I appreciate your enthusiasm for AI-driven and no-code tools, but let’s not dismiss the expertise required to build secure, scalable systems. While anyone can spin up a prototype, troubleshooting complex issues or ensuring robust performance demands deeper technical knowledge. Anyone can drag-and-drop their way to a basic app, but when your system crashes under load because of unoptimized database queries, or your Redis cache is leaking memory, or your microservices are deadlocking - no AI or no-code tool is going to save you. You need engineers who understand thread synchronization, database indexing strategies, and distributed systems principles. Try debugging race conditions, implementing proper ACID transactions, or optimizing your Kubernetes cluster autoscaling with just AI prompts. Good luck securing your APIs against injection attacks or implementing proper zero-trust architecture without deep technical expertise. These tools are supplements, not replacements. What we need are skilled engineers who can both leverage modern tooling AND handle the critical low-level work that keeps systems running reliably at scale. These kind of posts remind me of Felix Hill's document. AI has become this thing people fear because of the extreme push to have it replace people instead of supplement the world in a positive way. It has put pressure on engineers, researchers, and even people who have non-technical jobs who want to make an honest living. do better. good luck with "Mainstreet AI".

Every tech downturn I’ve seen (Dot-com bubble, the Great Recession, and whatever this is) follows the same pattern: 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐞, 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐞. The big question is not if companies will hire more software developers—it’s when. There’s always a rebound, and as technology evolves, the demand for skilled developers never truly disappears. Patience and preparation are key for staying ahead when the tide turns. How do you think the market will look in the next 6 months? #SoftwareDevelopment #TechIndustry #HiringTrends #FutureOfWork
