A PURLINS is a longitudinal, horizontal, structural member in a roof. In traditional timber framing there are three basic types of purlin: purlin plate, principal purlin, and common purlin. Purlins also appear in steel frame construction. Steel purlins may be painted or greased for protection from the environment. In PEB Steel Construction, the term purlin typically refers to roof framing members that span parallel to the building eave, and support the roof decking or sheeting. ... Purlins are most commonly used in Metal Building Systems, where Z-shapes are utilized in a manner that allows flexural continuity between spans. #aluminumformwork #waler # walerbrackets #aluminumformwork #concrete #wallpanels #walltie #reinforcement #support #mivan #mivanformwork How Archipower Aluminum Fromwork support the lateral presure of concrete pouring? A waler bracket is a crucial reinforcement component used in aluminum formwork systems to ensure stability and strength. It attaches to the formwork panels, providing additional support and alignment. The waler bracket distributes lateral pressure exerted by wet concrete, preventing deformation and maintaining the formwork's integrity. By securing walers (horizontal beams) to the vertical panels, the bracket enhances the overall rigidity of the structure, ensuring accurate concrete shaping. This reinforcement is essential for high-rise buildings and complex structures, offering durability, ease of installation, and reusability, thereby contributing to efficient and precise construction processes. A very popular product and solution in South Texas is our Long Bay® Roof System. Freeing up space and making the most of each square foot is the desire and challenge we face in the construction industry. This is where the Long Bay system provides measurable advantages: 1. Bays stretching from 40-60 feet reduce the number of interior columns. 2. Cold formed from 12 and 14 ga steel to create chord and web members that are stronger, wider, and lighter than conventional bar joists; resulting in a reduced cost in the foundation. 3. Ease of installation with a truly bolted system and no field welding, along with little bridging required. This brings a massive savings in time to erect the building. 4. A single source system means seamless scheduling and timely delivery. It all adds up to less: less time, less bridging, less outlay, less hassle, and less unavailable square footage. In this case, less is most definitely more. #PEMB #LongBay #Steel #StarBuildings #CBB https://lnkd.in/gtRYv69g

Quick Headers are a temporary, removable beam support form used by masonry contractors when building masonry lintels over window or door openings. These patented steel purlins have extendable/retractable trays on each end providing flexibility when setting the form. Quick Headers range in sizes from 2’ to 16’ in length, in one-foot increments, and completely eliminate the need for traditional wood buck shoring, precast and steel imbeds or lintels. A post shore is only needed every six feet of length and can be installed in a matter of minutes. The masons and General Contractors who use Quick Headers save as much as 50% to 60% when compared to building out of wood bucks, and much more when compared to precast and steel lintels. It’s myth busting Monday. Think metal roofs are cheaper than concrete roofs? Total myth! Fact: Concrete tiles save you approximately 20% compared to metal sheeting when considering the entire roof construction. We did a cost analysis using the same roof and asked a number of our customers to price a concrete tile roof and a metal sheeting roof. This included the timber and installation costs. The findings: a concrete tile roof is a very cost effective solution when you take the entire roof construction, including your roof timber, trusses and installation costs, into account. Switch to concrete tiles for a stylish, cost-effective and long-lasting roof. Contact: info.sa@bmigroup.com #itsneverjustaroof #coverland #rooftiles #concreterooftiles

🧱 What’s a Concrete Biscuit? 🧱 In construction, a "concrete biscuit" is a small spacer used to keep reinforcement bars (rebar) at the correct distance from the formwork, ensuring concrete fully covers the steel for durability and protection. These little discs are essential for achieving strong, long-lasting structures by preventing rebar from being too close to surfaces, which could lead to corrosion. Next time you see a sturdy building, thank these small but mighty "biscuits" hidden within! 👷♂️💪 #ConstructionTips #ConcreteBasics #StructuralIntegrity #Reinforcement #BuildingMaterials #ConstructionSite #ConcreteConstruction #BuildingSafety #CivilEngineering #Rebar

When it comes to flooring projects, skipping surface preparation steps might seem like a shortcut, but it can lead to costly mistakes and unsatisfactory results. A poorly prepared floor can cause issues like bubbling and uneven surfaces. To ensure a high-quality, durable finish, it's crucial to complete every step of the process—scraping, grinding, and more.
