How do you turn Science Based Targets in to robots and methanol vessels? This is what I'll be discussing at Global Offshore Wind #RUKGOW24 with David Smith from our friends at ScottishPower Renewables Come along to the Energy Transition zone at 12:05 PM on Tuesday 18th to learn about what Science Based Target are and what it takes to turn them from targets to actions. Did you know that Fugro has a Net Zero target for 2035? But we've also got one of the largest survey fleets in the world. This is driving our investments in uncrewed surface vessels (saving 95% CO2e compared to crewed vessels) and vessel conversions (saving over 90% CO2e compared to diesel). But also our Future Workforce programme that's equipping staff for new remote roles and our own supply chain engagement, encouraging our suppliers to set their own targets. 🚀 Excited to share our latest report, highlighting some groundbreaking projects within our innovation portfolio! 🌍 From cutting-edge technologies in offshore and onshore wind, to solar, storage, we're pushing the boundaries of what's possible 🤝 Many of these initiatives are in collaboration with external partners, showcasing the power of partnerships in driving innovation. Here are a few examples from the report related to artificial intelligence: 🚁 Drones and AI to save time and labour in wind turbine inspections: Inspecting offshore wind turbines is a labour-intensive and time-consuming task which involves technicians entering confined spaces. With Confispace, we can halve the number of technicians involved, improve safety, and reduce inspection time by up to 80 % using inspection drones and AI analytics. Sensors on the drone quickly scan the confined space of the transition piece and monopile and send the data to the cloud, where AI extracts insights from the inspections.    ⚡ Democratise AI - Building an innovative culture across Ørsted: An initiative that empowers employees with intelligent tools that can enhance their technological capabilities, increase efficiency, and foster a culture of innovation to solidify our leadership in green energy.
