But 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲? It's a process that traps carbon dioxide (CO2) from sources like power plants and industrial facilities, preventing it from entering the atmosphere. The captured CO2 can either be stored underground or reused for industrial purposes. By capturing and storing carbon emissions, we can significantly reduce our carbon footprint while continuing to transition to renewable energy. Recent examples show how this is becoming a reality. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗿𝗰𝗮 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 in Iceland is one of the largest direct air capture plants, removing CO2 from the air and storing it underground. Meanwhile, 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻 in the UK is developing scalable, affordable solutions for industries to capture CO2 at source.
