Since every teen is naturally interested in their own development and personality, reflecting to them what we see as their strengths, opens the door to applying those strengths to an understanding of consent. Consent is fundamentally a personal choice, based on an awareness of one’s personal readiness. Empowering teens to understand their readiness means inviting the kind of conversation that connects them to themselves at a deeper level. A level beyond anything they can read about in a book or hear in a lecture. Our greatest gifts to young people center around knowing who they are as humans, and inviting them to bring those attributes to their relationships. #consent #consenteducation #healthyrelationships #teenmentalhealth #schoolcounselors #parentingteens #sexualhealth #educators

The story of two girls who got into a fight during one of my programs..It all came down to them fighting their feelings. They were trying so hard to avoid their own feelings that they took it out on each other. By the end of the program, however, they had reconciled, and it was a powerful reminder of why I do what I do. Emotional intelligence isn’t typically taught in schools, and I believe it’s crucial for students to learn how to process their feelings in a healthy way. My mission is to equip them with these essential skills, fostering connections instead of conflicts. #friendship #publicspeaking #publicspeaker #studentprograms #emotionalintelligence #emotionalintelligencetips

School start is just around the corner, and as parents, let's remember the importance of teaching our children empathy and kindness. 📚 Please, take 5 minutes to: - Emphasize that making fun of someone's physical appearance, home life, or interests is never okay. - Encourage acceptance and inclusivity by teaching them not to exclude others for being different. - Remind them that school is a place for learning, not for competition or negativity. - Highlight the significance of kindness, especially towards those facing difficulties at home. Let's lead by example and nurture compassionate individuals at home! 🌟 #InclusionMatters #Empathy #Kindness #BackToSchool #ParentingTips #Makeadifference

There are several ways you can help your children explore their interests, passions, and talents. Here are a few suggestions: Encourage them to try new activities: Expose your children to a variety of activities such as sports, arts, music, or coding. This will help them discover what they enjoy and what they excel at. Create a supportive environment: Foster a safe and encouraging space where your children feel comfortable expressing themselves and pursuing their interests without fear of judgment. Engage in open conversations: Talk to your children about their likes, dislikes, and aspirations. By actively listening to them, you can better understand what excites them and what they are curious about. Provide resources and tools: Invest in resources such as books, classes, or equipment that align with your children's interests. These tools can help them further explore and develop their talents. Celebrate their achievements: Acknowledge and celebrate your children's milestones and accomplishments, no matter how small. Positive reinforcement can boost their confidence and motivation to continue pursuing their passions. By implementing these strategies, you can create a supportive environment that empowers your children to explore their interests, passions, and talents, ultimately helping them thrive and grow into well-rounded individuals. #parentsofteenagers #teenagerstruggles #wellbeing #selfcarehelp #selfhelpskills #selfhelpblogger #parents #teenagers #spiritualdevelopment #education #rachaelburgesscourses
