Fast fashion brands face the challenge of sustainable development while quickly responding to trends. According to the latest data, the global apparel industry generates about 92 million tons of waste each year, prompting us to re-evaluate sustainability in the manufacturing process. For fast fashion brands, implementing sustainable strategies is not an easy task. However, Stage Group is committed to minimizing environmental impact during manufacturing. With this philosophy in mind, Stage Group and its affiliated factories have become certified members of GRS, RCS, BCI, RDS, and OCS. We prioritize the use of recycled fibers throughout the supply chain, reduce the use of harmful substances, and ensure production respects social rights and protects the environment. Sustainable fashion is not a short-term trend; it is an inevitable choice for future development. We look forward to collaborating with more brands to drive the industry towards a more sustainable direction. 🌱🌍 #SustainableFashion #FastFashion #ESG #RecycledMaterials #EcoFriendly #GreenManufacturing #Collaboration

Why do we keep using the term "sustainability" in the Fashion / clothing industry? The truth is, once we create something, it's no longer sustainable. Yet, we continue to rely on this term, even though the current production practices don’t truly reflect it. Fashion / Clothing operates on a "take, make, dispose" cycle, which significantly affects the planet. Referring to it as sustainable feels more like wishful thinking than reality. Consider the facts: 🔸 Fashion contributes 8-10% of global carbon emissions—surpassing both aviation and shipping combined. 🔸 The industry generates 92 million tons of textile waste every year. 🔸 Only a tiny fraction—less than 1%—of clothing is recycled into new apparel. 🔸 The global fashion industry churns out between 100 to 150 billion garments annually. With statistics like these, it's clear that calling our approach "sustainable" doesn't hold up. The term has been overused and, in many ways, has lost its meaning. We need to shift the conversation toward what we're really doing. A system that consumes resources, creates waste, and harms the environment can’t genuinely be considered sustainable. So, what’s a more accurate term? Personally, I lean toward "RESPONSIBLE"—it reflects accountability rather than perfection. What are your thoughts? What word should replace “sustainable” in our industry? ⬇️ *Rolling forward...!!

Why do we keep saying “sustainability”? Why do we keep using the word “sustainability” in fashion? The way we produce today is not sustainable - we know this at this point. As soon as we make something - it’s not sustainable. But we keep using that word. We do too (until there's a better one). The fashion industry operates in a linear model: take, make, and waste. But again - as soon as we produce something, it's no longer sustainable. ✅ The fashion industry is responsible for 8-10% of global carbon emissions, more than aviation and shipping combined. ✅ We generate 92 million tons of textile waste annually. ✅ Less than 1% of clothing is recycled into new garments. ✅ The fashion industry produces between 100 and 150 billion garments each year globally. Nothing's “sustainable” with these numbers. The term "sustainability" is getting overused, and it's losing its meaning. We need to be more honest about what we’re actually doing. A truly sustainable system doesn’t exist in the model we have today. Because production consumes resources, generates waste, and negatively impacts the planet. So, what should we say instead? Personally, I’m liking “RESPONSIBLE”. Curious - What other words do you think we should be using to replace "sustainability"? 👇 #sustainablefashion #fashionindustry #sustainability #responsiblefashion

Definitely food for thought! Last time I was pondering about sustainability, it’s true meaning and how it has been misused made me cringe and somewhat angry, because it felt like we are going round in circles whilst trying to figure out ways of being sustainable. It’s all about ecological balance. Balance means one cannot exist without the other. Therefore eliminating waste is not the answer. Now educating ourselves about waste reduction whilst applying it in our everyday lives could be the starting point. So perhaps WELL BALANCED or SENSIBLE could fit the bill, but again, without us applying the true meaning to our everyday choices (food, diet, energy consumption, time usage etc, etc) these are only empty words. Also good to remember that the change has to start with each of us individually. #sustainability #fashionindustry #sensibility

No doubt "sustainability" is being overused. I totally agree with that part but will a new word really solve the problem? For me, it's not about semantics. Being a do-er, taking action is what matters to me. Will a new word really help the fashion industry be more "responsible"? Will the onus still fall on the consumers to make better choices, to reduce demand for fast fashion & hope for the industry to do better in the future? Will it make luxury brands pay fair wages? A new word or a few new words really aren't going to make any difference. We need ACTION not new words. #sustainablefashion #sustainability #fashionindustry
