It's not too late to book a safari for 2024! September through December is one of my favorite times to travel to Africa because the wildlife viewing is still good, but there are fewer tourists. I can also often find special offers during this time to make your trip a better deal. I've compiled some of my favorite options to end the year in this article: https://lnkd.in/e4_kwebs

Exciting News! Tsessabe LTD has been asked to help launch a very exciting new product into the UK Safari Travel Industry - GVI Wilderness Conservation Expeditions. This is not an ordinary safari program. This is a chance for clients to experience some of the world's most beautiful, thrilling, and vulnerable wildlife on the Planet – through the eyes of a field guide. Since I left hotel school in South Africa - many many years ago - my life has been all about wildlife and the natural world - it is a passion and part of me, and going in a game drive and photographing wildlife is my idea of heaven, as is promoting safari destinations and products. Having been very fortunate to have been on countless game drives and safaris all over Sub-Saharan Africa (starting when I was 3 weeks old) it is embedded into my being. This NEW product can give everyone an insight into this world, in a way no ordinary safari can. Parents can take their children on a safari like no other where the whole family gets involved! The Great Migration: A Spectacular Natural Phenomenon The Great Migration, an annual movement of millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles, is one of the most awe-inspiring natural spectacles on Earth. Here are some of the most common questions about this remarkable event: 1. When is the best time to see the Great Migration? The best time to witness the Great Migration is during the calving season (February to March) and the crossing of the Mara River (July to October). 2. Where can I see the Great Migration? The Great Migration primarily takes place in the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania and the Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. 3. What animals participate in the Great Migration? Millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles participate in this annual migration, along with predators like lions, cheetahs, and hyenas. 4. Why do the animals migrate? The migration is primarily driven by the search for fresh grazing land and water. The animals follow the seasonal rains, moving in a circular pattern. 5. How can I experience the Great Migration? There are several ways to experience the Great Migration: Safari Tours: Join a guided safari tour to witness the migration firsthand. Hot Air Balloon Safaris: Soar above the plains and get a bird's-eye view of the vast herds. Camping Safaris: Immerse yourself in the wilderness and experience the migration up close. One of our favourite partners in Africa is the Red Carnation portfolio, and we are so proud to work with the Tollman Family. As a family-owned and run business, they genuinely care about their people and local communities. They work hard to protect the wildlife and environments within which they operate. Xigera Safari Lodge offering 12 beautiful suites, is situated in the western reaches of Botswana’s iconic Moremi Game Reserve, gazing out on the seasonal floodplains of the Okavango Delta, Xigera’s unique location offers unrivalled access to extraordinary safari experiences. Jonathon a member of our team was lucky enough to experience the amazing Xigera Safari Lodge recently while attending Africa’s Eden, in Jonathon’s words… ‘Xigera is a stunning property, from the beautiful private, luxurious, and comfortable rooms to the incredible game drive where we had the pleasure of Lion and Leopard sightings. The staff are amazing and couldn't be more friendly and helpful. Definitely the best food I have had in Botswana, including a sunrise bush breakfast! I highly recommend a visit to this wonderful property. Xigera also offers 5 Seasonal activities that are very unique in the Moremi Game Reserve: • Game drives - year-round • Mekoro - Year round • Fishing (Catch and release)– 10 months of the year, excluding Jan/Feb which is the breeding season. This is a unique activity they can offer as you are not permitted to fish in the Moremi Game Reserve • Walking – Year-round – however when the grass Is particularly long, they do not walk due to safety reasons. • Boating – Seasonal, levels of water-dependent. #xigerasafarilodge #africa #redcarnation #adamsandbutler #adamsandbutlerafrica #privateluxurytravel #fineartoftravel #BotswanaLuxurySafari #LuxurySafariLodge #OkavangoDeltaSafariLodge #BotswanaSafari #LuxuryTravelBotswana #LuxuryTravelMoremiReserve #LuxuryTravelOkavangoDelta #OkavangoDeltaSafari

Subject: Concerns Regarding the Impact of Park Entry Fee Increase and Travel Inefficiencies Between Maasai Mara and Serengeti Jambo Madam CS , I am writing to express my deep concerns regarding two critical issues currently affecting the tourism sector in our country. Firstly, the recent decision by the Narok County government to double the park entry fee is likely to have dire consequences for the tourism industry nationwide. This increase will disproportionately impact the micro-economy and the small community-owned camps and lodges, which play a vital role in sustaining local tourism. The potential for job losses is significant, which could have a devastating effect on the livelihoods of many Kenyans. It is disheartening to observe that such a decision was made without adequate consultation with all relevant stakeholders. I urge your office to engage with Narok County officials to reconsider this fee hike and ensure that future decisions are made with a more inclusive approach. Secondly, I would like to bring to your attention the challenges faced by tourists traveling between the Maasai Mara and the Serengeti. Currently, it is necessary for tourists to take at least three flights to move between these two renowned wildlife destinations, despite the fact that they share a common border. This situation is particularly ironic given that the wildebeest can migrate freely across this border, yet tourists are burdened by unnecessary travel obstacles. This inefficiency not only diminishes the experience for tourists but also represents a missed opportunity for cross-border tourism growth. I propose the establishment of a border crossing that would allow for easier movement between Kenya and Tanzania, similar to the seamless crossing at Victoria Falls between Zambia and Zimbabwe. Such an initiative could significantly enhance the attractiveness of our region as a prime tourist destination. I believe that addressing these issues promptly will contribute greatly to the sustainability and growth of our tourism sector. I look forward to your favorable consideration of these matters. Thank you so much and hope this concerned will be addressed. You can kindly reach out to me on +254729788207 or Info@sceatravels.com
🇰🇪 Kenya’s iconic safari experience is evolving! It is time to reimagine our wildlife tourism beyond bush and beach. https://lnkd.in/d6sMdA-T

What Not to Do on a Safari: Quick Tips Planning an impactful African safari? Make a positive difference by following these essential dos and don’ts. Here are 10 things to avoid on your African safari adventure. 1. Don't Feed the Animals Feeding wildlife disrupts their natural behavior and can harm them. Let animals find food naturally to keep them healthy and independent. 2. Stay in Your Vehicle Avoid getting out of your safari vehicle except in designated areas. It’s dangerous and can lead to encounters with hidden wildlife. 3. Avoid Bright Clothes Wear neutral colors like beige and green to blend in. Bright clothes attract wildlife attention and can be dangerous. 4. Keep Quiet on Game Drives Avoid shouting or loud noises. It can scare or attract wildlife. Enjoy sightings quietly for a better experience. 5. Respect the Locals Honor local cultures and traditions. Engage respectfully and show genuine interest, especially in community visits like with the Maasai. 6. Respect Your Safari Guides Your guides are crucial for a great safari experience. Listen to their advice and treat them with respect. 7. Don't Overpack Pack light and use soft bags. Opt for neutral, wrinkle-resistant clothing that can be layered. Use vacuum sacks to save space. 8. Respect Nature Treat the environment with care. Don’t litter or damage nature. Follow the same rules as you would in any national park. 9. Tip Your Guide Generous tips are appreciated and make a big difference. If you can afford a safari, you can afford to tip well. Enjoy a safe and respectful safari adventure! . #safari #africatravel #africanwildlife #africansafari #safariFAQ
