Denmark in USA’s Post

𝗔 𝗗𝗔𝗡𝗜𝗦𝗛 𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗟𝗔𝗕 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗘𝗦 𝗧𝗢 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗔𝗖𝗜𝗙𝗜𝗖 𝗡𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗛𝗪𝗘𝗦𝗧 The exchange of ideas and know-how between the Pacific Northwest and Denmark is strong! Such a great turn out in Seattle for the opening of the Danish Housing Lab exhibition. The Pacific Northwest Housing Lab tour is presented by Scan Design Foundation in partnership with the Embassy with the goal of sparking conversation on how to rethink housing through the ideas of the Housing Lab and inventive programming with local partners and Danish experts. The exhibited projects address some of the greatest challenges of our time: Climate changes, resource scarcity, new family patterns and loneliness on the rise. Common to the projects is that they will be realized as full-scale housing experiments in Denmark. Housing Lab will be touring four locations; Seattle Architecture Foundation, University of Washington College of Built Environments, Portland State University – School of Architecture, and Nordic Northwest in Portland. Housing Lab – Boliglaboratorium - was established in 2019 by the Danish Arts Foundation Statens Kunstfond and Realdania, and is designed as a collaborative platform that fosters new ways of living and building through experimental housing projects and cross-disciplinary knowledge exchange.   Fidelma McGinnFrederikke Møller Kristiansen ©Evan Chakroff 2024
