Technology can change our lives as dentists - one way to look at dental technology is, what pain points can they solve for us? Jeremy N. Krell, DMD, MBA talks about two types of technology that can do just that: 1. Technology that helps us with staffing issues, or people management. How do we find, source, retain and staff? 2. Technology that helps us take patient payment, called ‘fintech’ — this is both technology that helps us take payment from patients and also helps us with revenue cycle management, or handling insurance. Jeremy brings up the point that because we deal with insurance, we are some of the only service based businesses in the world that has to pay a double marketing cost, called a CAC: Customer Acquisition Cost. Using AI to do manual work that will be cheaper and more accurate than having someone at your office do it. 2.
