We are writing to people in positions of power to highlight the challenges we face as a charity. Can you help share the message too? Demand is rising, funding is not. Our capacity is stretched and we WANT to support everyone. We know that by accessing therapy, people get the chance to heal. And for some people, that comes after years, or even decades, of living in emotional pain. But to support everyone, and meet rising demand, we need More Room to Care. More funding to deliver more counselling sessions, and more space to expand. Will you write to your Norfolk MP to explain why our support for sexual abuse survivors matters? Without us, where else do people turn? Find your local MP at https://lnkd.in/d5hpVywU #CharitySupport #FundingForGood #NorfolkCharity #CounselingSupport #SurvivorSupport

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and C4’s STARS (Sexual Assault Awareness Recovery Services) team is taking part! Did you know that about 1 in 3 women and 1 in 6 men in the U.S. experience some form of sexual violence in their lifetime? At C4's STARS (Sexual Assault Awareness Recovery Services) program, we're dedicated to providing survivor-centered counseling to promote healing from the trauma of unwanted sexual contact. The STARS team, supervised by Yvette Arnoux, LCPC, honors the expression that “trauma is what happened to a person, not what’s wrong with them.” The STARS team provides survivor centered counseling to promote healing from the trauma of unwanted sexual contact, whether the incident(s) was recent or occurred many years ago. This April, we're inviting you to make a difference by donating to our Threads of Compassion program. Through Threads of Compassion, survivors have the opportunity to create and donate scarves to uplift other survivors. It's a beautiful way to show support and solidarity within our community. Your donation will directly support survivors on their journey toward healing and empowerment. No contribution is too small, and every donation makes a meaningful impact. To make a donation, please visit: www.givebutter.com/lljd95 -- A lighthouse is a metaphor that represents a beacon of hope as it guides the way for vessels at sea. In any kind of toxic relationship, it’s critical for you to find these amazing non-judgmental people who will listen and express empathy for what you’re enduring and shine a light on the path to healing. Every year at the holiday season The Center for Hope, WNY shines a light on survivors of narcissistic abuse. According to statistics, intimate partner abuse increases over the holidays, for a few possible reasons: Stress from holiday shopping, finances, and planning can aggravate volatile personalities. Abusers are more likely to partake in alcohol or drugs when they don’t have to work. Simple opportunity: abusers are more likely to be home alone with their victims than at other times of the year. Donate today to help us raise $4,500 to fund 10 scholarships for people to attend our 6-session Narcissistic Abuse Education and Recovery workshop series. Your one-time donation of $75.00 is a gift to a survivor to participate in one session of our workshop. Ongoing support is vital for us to continue to offer this group at low or no cost.
