I, and many others expected that #IAQ monitoring would be a global outcome from the COVID pandemic. Buildings are for people and IAQ is easy to retrofit, relatively inexpensive and in terms of a healthy workforce has a massive ROI. Incredibly, most buildings are BAU but sickness rates are increasing. Whole economies and sectors are waking up to the benefit of monitoring air quality as a preventative measure to protect occupants. Loránd Mózes, Flashnet’s CEO, took the stage at the Smart City Expo World Congress, joining an insightful panel organized by Town Square CTIA Smart Cities Initiative. A big thank you to our fantastic moderator Bob Borzillo and fellow panelists Tiana McNeil and Brandon Branham, ICMA-CM, CPM for diving into “Accelerating Connectivity & Green Initiatives for Mobility.” Loránd discussed the evolution of communication technology in our projects, moving from PLC solutions to cellular technology. He also highlighted our successful project in Washington, where the city’s goals matched our technology perfectly. When it comes to what motivates cities to invest in smart lighting solutions, he gave a great breakdown. In Europe, it's all about sustainability and energy efficiency. In the Middle East, cities are looking for real-time data and better security features like pole tampering alerts. Meanwhile, in the US, the focus is on making maintenance easier with remote control that helps identify issues quickly.
