8/52 These books are the spark of all my ideas and concepts. ⚡️ One of my first steps for EVERY Design project is to get my ideas onto paper, giving me the freedom to develop concepts further. I literally carry my pocket one everywhere just incase! ✏️ Sometimes, I will even sit and go back through my old notebooks to revise ideas and look back at concepts that didn’t make the grade, but had the potential… (these two are recent additions to my archive). 🔥 Ever worked with me on a Design project? Chances are that the origins of your design can be found in one of these sketchbooks. 🤙 (Yes, I am a massive Aaron James Draplin fan). #LogoDesigner #GraphicDesigner #IdeaCreation #FieldNotes

One of the things that gets me excited on a daily basis, is my ability to bring my imagination into reality —leveraging (graphic) designs. At the conclusion of each design project, I’m usually filled with gratitude to God for embedding in me, the skills required to become a designer; and afterwards I just stare in awe, appreciating the beautiful artwork that has been birthed. The visualization I had for this design was to blend simplicity with professionalism and I strongly believe I was able to achieve this. The cartooned image featured on the design was to create a personalization on the act of reading rather than just putting a book on the design. I hope these ‘Five Tips’ help you complete reading your next book… What are you thoughts on the design? Lemme know in the comments. #design #book #graphicsdesign #designer #tips #socialmediadesign #designenthusiast

📼 #mondaymoodboard This is why #design is so cool. This book reminded me of the amazing range of designs that can all happen within a narrow category like blank tapes. A little bit of #80s and #90s inspiration in there as well. https://lnkd.in/e5N3BqeM

The book cover "𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲: 𝐀 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞" is meticulously crafted to reflect the themes of resilience, triumph, and the transformative power of perseverance. The design focuses on the concept of overcoming challenges and thriving in life, embodied by the central visual—a silhouette of a person standing confidently on the edge of a cliff, arms outstretched toward a stunning sunset. This image symbolizes the journey from struggle to success, capturing the essence of personal growth and perseverance. The background of the cover showcases dramatic mountain ranges bathed in warm, golden hues as the sun sets. These natural elements represent the highs and lows of life's journey, further emphasizing the themes of endurance and victory. The title, "𝐇𝐎𝐖 𝐓𝐎 𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐄 𝐀𝐃𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐈𝐕𝐄," is displayed prominently in bold, gradient text that transitions from deep brown to bright yellow, symbolizing the transition from darkness to light, from hardship to achievement. Beneath the title, the subtitle, "𝟭𝟬 𝗪𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗗𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀," is set in a clean, modern font. This reinforces the practical and motivational aspects of the book, providing readers with actionable steps to navigate challenges. The author's name is elegantly placed at the bottom of the cover, completing the design with a sense of professionalism and authority. This cover, with its powerful imagery and thoughtful typography, serves as a beacon of hope and encouragement for those facing difficult times. #graphicdesigner #bookcovers #bookcoverdesigner #logos #socialmediagraphics #banners #youtubethumbnail #creditrepairflyers #custombrushes #creativedesign #ebookcoverdesign #bookcoverdesigner #ebookcoverdesigner

There’s a lot to think about when designing a unique book like ‘Jambot’s Guide to Technology’. The layout for every chapter is consistent and familiar. Each chapter is colour coded. Every tiny detail, from the font choices to the page numbering style, is given a lot of thought and attention! Each of the 40+ technical illustrations are 100% unique and they have an unmistakable ‘Jambot’s Guide’ feel. The reader can engage with the content at 3 different levels. 1. They can look at the pictures. 2. They can read the Jambot callouts. 3. They can read the detailed body text. This book does not have to be read cover-to-cover. The reader can grow into it! I didn’t do this alone. I had help. My brother Ian is a graphics designer with 40+ years of experience. He understands design. He knows what works. He knows how to engage the reader. He worked tirelessly on the layout, every illustration, every detail. He believed in my vision, and he turned it into a beautiful reality. Every detail comes from his expertise and his genius. Without Ian I couldn’t have done this. I wanted his name on the cover – ‘Illustrations and layout – Ian Lynch’ – but I was overruled! He designed the cover 😊. Thank you, Ian. It couldn’t have happened without you! #jambottech #jambotsguidetotechnology #learning #education #stem #book #design #graphicdesign #brothers

Books, like any 3D objects, require structure to exist. Whether we are talking about designing the inside or the cover, invisible elements are necessary to hold everything in place. When these elements are well-designed, they seamlessly fall into place, resulting in a harmonious and balanced outcome that is enjoyable to look at. Recently, I learned how to sew an Islamic endband. Its complexity is what fascinates me. It consists of two endbands in one. Although only one endband is visible, the second one, hidden from view, is equally important for creating the distinctive chevron effect. Unless you have sewn this endband yourself, you might have no idea that the second structure exists. Yet, it does, and it is essential. This hidden structure in bookbinding reminds me of the foundational elements in any successful book design project. The visible parts—the final product, the design, the user experience—are what people see and admire. But it's the invisible elements—the planning, the attention to detail, the craftsmanship—that hold everything together and make the visible parts shine. Are you planning a book for your company? Whether it's to showcase your brand's story, share your expertise, or engage with your audience, a meticulously designed book can make all the difference. What steps are you taking to bring your book to life? If you need expert guidance on creating a beautiful and impactful book, feel free to reach out. Let’s transform your vision into a stunning reality. #BookDesign #BespokeBooks #BrandBuilding #ArtOfBookbinding #Design
