STAIRCASE *When detailing a staircase: 1. Ensure what’s on the section is also what’s on the plan , in this case I have a wall, on the plan I’ve also indicated a dashed line to show the wall. 2. Ensure your dimensions are neat, clear and visible. 3. Ensure you show the no of risers and treads and at what dimension they are. 4. Ensure the reinforcement is visible and not under any other writings. 5. Look at your design , and ensure if there’s a beam at any point on the staircase, you have shown it. #structuralengineering #today #residentialhouses #staircase #detailing #structuraldesign

⭐ Service Highlight: Metal Stud Framing ⭐ The framing process is essential for the success of any project, ensuring that it is plumb, level, and square so that the final finishes, from wallboard to ceilings to trim, appear perfect. Fundamental to all commercial buildings, framing serves as the skeleton of the structure. #houstontx #texasconstruction #texaspremierdrywall #commercialconstruction #newconstruction #framing

This video captures the process behind the installation of our Elements Stain Series tongue and groove ceiling. On one side, ESS in the Cayman Brac color is fully installed. On the other side, you can see the installation in progress, where PVC strips are secured with tapcons into the concrete decking. For areas with electrical and plumbing, framing is covered with Advantech plywood before the tongue and groove is glued and nailed, ensuring a seamless blend across the ceiling. One of the most distinctive aspects of the Elements Stain Series is that no two boards are identical. Each piece is hand-finished, creating subtle variations within a unified color palette. This process results in an authentic, natural wood appearance with the durability of synthetic materials. #tongueandgroove #carpentry #customhomes #homeconstruction #architecturaldesign #buildingmaterials #millwork #exteriordesign #exteriors #architects_need #buildingmaterials

What is a Concealed Beam? A concealed beam, also known as a hidden beam, is a structural element designed to support loads within a concrete slab without being visible from below. It essentially functions like a regular beam, but with a depth matching the thickness of the slab it supports. This allows for a flat, uninterrupted ceiling design.

This is not so effective against deflection, I have personally experimented on this using a software (prota structures), the effect is very minimal, often inconsequential. On STAAD.Pro RCDC, it cannot be modelled if the width is greater than the depth because STAAD won't recognize it as a beam as this is against the definition of a beam which is a member that has a higher depth than width, hence, it would suggest you define it as a slab, as it should be. However, there exists something like this in construction but it is called something else and not a hidden beam or an invincible beam as it is now popularly known, it is called a STRONG BAND. A Strong band is a strip within a slab that is highly reinforced to help against deflection often from concentrated loads. I use this in my designs a lot, I often place them where I have concentrated wall loads. Wall loads are not uniformly distributed across the area of the slab as often assumed (i.e Partition allowance), hence it is sometimes good to introduce a Strong band to make the slab more rigid against deflection due to wall loads. Note: I don't design the Strong band, it would fail most of the times if it were to be considered a separate beam dividing the slab into 2 panels, instead it is simply put there as part of the slab to help against the concentration of load along that strip. "I couldn't type all this in the comments because it is much."

Week 27 included significant strides! #GenesisByAnRae ✅️ 𝐀𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 - 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐞, 𝐊𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬. We plastered and tiled the interior steps, while also focusing on painting and preparing the kitchen cabinet bases for installation. We excavated to widen the driveway and began preparations for the new retaining wall. This involved bending and casting steelwork and footings, erecting blocks, and casting columns and beams.
