In a recent study published in Nature Microbiology, researchers demonstrated significant variability in transit time and pH among healthy individuals, explaining differences in microbiome composition and host–microbiota metabolism. Factors such as transit time and pH influenced microbial activity, highlighting the importance of the gut environment in shaping microbiota responses. Specific metabolites were linked to longer transit times, with potential clinical implications for managing conditions like constipation. Microbiome Therapeutic Potential In Treating Women's Chronic Pain #Mysummary I have experienced this from very close and how it can literally stop someone's life, endometriosis. It is a condition affecting millions of women, and often brings severe, chronic pain - even after surgery. But there is hope in the #microbiome. 🔹A recent survey of over 2,600 individuals with endometriosis across 51 countries revealed that 83% of respondents had modified their diets in an attempt to alleviate symptoms. 🔹About 63% reported a reduction in pain after making dietary changes, particularly by going gluten-free or dairy-free. 🔹The gut microbiome’s metabolites - chemical byproducts of bacterial processes - could significantly influence pain perception. Bile acids and short-chain fatty acids produced by gut bacteria can interact with the nervous system, even crossing the blood-brain barrier to alter the perception of pain at its very source. John Cryan 🔹Clinical trials are now underway to explore whether probiotics and antibiotics could offer sustained relief for chronic pain conditions. For example, two small randomized trials showed that certain Lactobacillus strains may reduce painful periods in people with endometriosis. #Mythoughts Chronic pain is highly individualized. One-size-fits-all approaches are unlikely to work, as pain is deeply personal and influenced by multiple factors, from genetics to environmental stressors. To make real progress, we need a more targeted approach that accounts for individual variations in gut microbiome composition and pain pathways. More evidence - this from Germany - indicating the therapeutic benefit (and safety) of a well formulated ketogenic diet. Conclusion: A KD fundamentally changes the human metabolome even after a short period of only three weeks. Besides a rapid metabolic switch to ketone body production and utilization, improved insulin and triglyceride levels and an increase in metabolites that mediate anti-inflammation and mitochondrial protection occurred. Importantly, no metabolic risk factors were identified. Thus, a ketogenic diet could be considered as a safe preventive and therapeutic immunometabolic tool in modern medicine. https://lnkd.in/gbSggezs If you'd like to learn how to safely adopt a well-formulated ketogenic diet, based on the same diet we use in our clinical studies, please have a look at my book, BioDiet www.biodiet.org

99.9% all human DNA is the same. We only partially understand what 10-20% of our DNA does, the genes that code for proteins. The other 80-90% is currently a mystery. The way our genes are expressed, controlled by epigenetics, is far more important than what genes we have, in the vast majority of cases. We can control and change the way our genes are expressed with the proper understanding of epigenetics and the epigenome, and how nutrition and supplementation plays a role. Want to learn more? Webinar this Wednesday 7 pm CST https://lnkd.in/gc-bs-Kv Healthcare Professionals to Join Us! Shift Healthcare with Measurable cell nutrition, generating revenue and improving Patient Outcomes. - Antioxidant & Oxidative stress testing is fast affordable and accurate. - Carotenoids are one of the most overlooked yet essential nutrients, with research suggesting that nearly everyone is deficient. This deficiency impacts virtually every disease, from metabolic conditions like diabetes to neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s. - What Are Carotenoids? Carotenoids are natural pigments in colorful fruits & vegetables, giving them hues of red, orange, yellow, & green. - As fat-soluble antioxidants, they require dietary fats for optimal absorption. In nature, they protect plants, but in humans, they offer similar cellular protection. - They’re found alongside fiber, vitamins (e.g., C & E), minerals (e.g., magnesium & potassium), & amino acids, creating a nutrient synergy that enhances absorption & efficacy. - How Carotenoids Impact Cellular Health - 1. Antioxidant Power & Membrane Stability: Carotenoids protect cell membranes from free radicals, preventing lipid peroxidation—a key factor in cardiovascular disease & cancer. By stabilizing the lipid bilayer, they maintain cell integrity & communication. 2. Energy Production: They boost mitochondrial function, reducing oxidative stress & supporting glucose metabolism for efficient energy (ATP) production, critical for organs like the heart & brain. 3. DNA & Gene Expression: Carotenoids influence gene expression, turning genes “on” or “off” through nuclear receptors. They activate anti-inflammatory & antioxidant pathways like Nrf2 & PPARs, restoring a more “genetically youthful” state. 4. Immune Function & Gut Health: Carotenoids strengthen the gut barrier, reduce inflammation, & balance the microbiome. This supports hormone regulation, modulates immune responses, & reduces systemic inflammation seen in autoimmune disorders. - #Holistichub #RyanEncinas #gethealthyusa #carotenoids #antioxidants #cellularhealth #mitochondrialhealth #geneexpression #oxidativestress #geneticnutrition #energyproduction #metabolichealth #guthealth #microbiome
