When Creative Blocks Hit.. When my brain hits a hard stop, here’s my quick fix: 👟 Take a walk. Fresh air, fresh ideas. 🔤 Play a word game. (Scrabble counts as strategy, right?) 📚 Read a book. Borrow brilliance until mine shows up. 🥗 Order food. Because let’s face it, nothing fuels creativity like good carbs. But here’s the real tea: I don’t just sit around waiting for inspiration to return from its vacation. I make sure it never leaves: 1. Two projects per person—because juggling ideas is way more fun than staring at a blank page. 2. Design exercises—creativity is a muscle and we do reps. 3. Random conversations. Because the best ideas often start with, "Did you hear that song?" It’s my new obsession! Honestly? Creative blocks are just life saying, “Time to switch it up.” So, what’s your secret weapon when the ideas stop flowing? Drop it below—I’m always looking for fresh hacks! #creativehacks #breakingblocks #brainstorminghacks #fuelcreativity #creativeboost #randomconversations #creativebreakthrough #brandingidentity #creativebranding #brandstrategy #packagingdesign #creativepackaging #designbrands #uiux #webdesigninspo #designthinking #designmatters #brandingstudio

Ever wonder what it takes to turn a passion into award-winning success? Buckle up, I'm about to spill the tea. 🍵 You've probably seen my recent post about hitting 500+ Canva design awards. Wild, right? But today, I want to talk about the real MVP behind those shiny accolades: good old-fashioned grit. Here's the unfiltered truth: this journey was less about talent and more about tenacity. My secret sauce? Two ingredients: 1. Consistency that borders on stubbornness 2. Dedication that sometimes felt like madness Every. Single. Day. I showed up. Even when Netflix was calling my name. Even when imposter syndrome was having a field day. I planted my butt in that chair and created. Some days, magic flowed. Other days? Let's just say my delete key got a serious workout. But I kept at it, and slowly but surely, those awards started rolling in. The lesson? Success isn't about overnight sensations. It's about the unsexy, unglamorous daily grind. It's about pushing through when you feel like you're getting nowhere. To everyone out there chasing a dream: keep going. Your breakthrough might be just one design (or whatever your craft is) away. What goal are you consistently working towards? Share below - let's hype each other up! #ConsistencyWins #DreamChaser #DesignLife

There’s something powerful about a pencil sketch. ✏️ It forces you to think about the big picture, stripping away the details so you can focus on what truly matters. Using a pencil allows you to move fast, iterate quickly, and set a clear structure before diving into the finer points. It’s a simple tool that drives clarity and speed in your creative process. Start with a sketch, and let your ideas take shape! 🗺️ #VisualThinking #PencilSketch #BigPicture #CreativeProcess #FastAndFocused

"Thank you so much for your thoughts - you have my head spinning in several directions (in a good way), and I am even more excited about the future of my company." A prospective client shared that with me over email after our initial talk discussing the challenges they faced in their company. It wasn't long before they signed up for my private Category Design Week. What is Category Design? It's permission to play. It's about serving your Superconsumers and creating value. It's thinking about things in a new way and actually taking time to think. Clients benefit from my experience in over 33 industries and my continuous learning. This Fall, I graduated as part of the first cohort of the Category Design Academy, taught my Superheros, The Category Pirates, Christopher Lochhead, Eddie Yoon, and Katrina Kirsch. As Pirate Christopher Lochhead recently said, "When we take something from somewhere else and apply it to something in an unpredictable way, it can be a huge mental unlock for people." Those are my favorite clients, the ones who are open to unlocking and releasing creativity to solve their customers' problems. Want to see if Category Design is right for you and your business? Doing hard things 002: On Procrastination Let's be honest, who hasn't fallen victim to the allure of "I'll start soon?" As a designer, I often find myself filled up with creative ideas. But translating those ideas into action? That's a whole other story. This week, for example, my goal was to draft my portfolio website based on an idea I came across yesterday. Yet, here I am, writing this post instead. The culprit? Procrastination. Deadlines I set for myself often feel more like suggestions. I convince myself there's always time to "extend" them. But, again and again, that just leads to a backlog of unfinished projects and a pestering sense of guilt. This week on doing hard things, I'd love to hear from you! What are your biggest challenges with procrastination? Share your tips and tricks for staying focused in the comments below.
