Web3 is not as decentralized as you may think… Are you familiar with the concept of an Oligarchy? What if I tell you that all of Web3 is similarly controlled by a few Web2 companies. We will try to prove it to you in 1min, let’s go. "Decentralization, which dilutes the organizational authority among network users." - sounds like the perfect philosophy for the 21st century onwards. Although blockchain is designed for decentralization, reality shows a different picture. Take some of the most popular DePIN projects (like Marlin or Helium), for example. They provide tools that make it easy to deploy blockchain nodes on the popular cloud platforms, and guess what? A large part of their infrastructure ended up being deployed on AWS. Sure, this lowers the entry barrier for network maintainers, but it also means the nodes are running on centralized Web2 infrastructure. If AWS were to experience another downtime or deplatform the service, those nodes, and the blockchain networks relying on them, would apparently crash. This is where the Web3 dream starts to crack. Instead of a peer-to-peer community driven future, we are once again falling into the trap of locking ourselves to well known players. So, who’s really in control here?

After building a solid foundation with security and AWS expertise, I’ve decided to take my skills to the next level by diving into blockchain—specifically smart contracts. My next project will leverage AWS cloud infrastructure and blockchain technology to develop a Minimal Viable Product (MVP) that streamlines how creators manage and monetize their work. The platform aims to simplify complex processes, enhance scalability, and provide tools that empower artists to achieve sustainable success. I just published a post documenting my first week of this exciting journey, where I explore how decentralization is transforming industries, empower users, and bring transparency into spaces that have relied on centralized systems for too long. In my post, I walk through: ⛓️ The fundamentals of smart contracts and decentralization. ⛓️ Setting up my first blockchain wallet and test transactions. ⛓️ Key blockchain concepts like Layer 2 solutions, oracles, and Web3. ⛓️ Insights on how these technologies can revolutionize industries and enable people to take control of their data. This journey is part of my broader goal of integrating blockchain, security, and AWS to create innovative, decentralized solutions that empower individuals and organizations alike. I’m excited to share this with the community and would love to hear your thoughts or questions! 👉 https://lnkd.in/g9PtK4QA #Blockchain #SmartContracts #AWS #Security #Decentralization #Web3 #TechJourney #Innovation

"No need for a Server anymore?" I saw my collegemates asking this question in amazement. But you may also think how's that possible? It's possible because of Internet Computer Protocol, i.e. ICP. ICP is a decentralized network of nodes that use the cloud integrated with blockchain. But where is the data going to be stored? Cannister are computational units that stores and read data, hence making ICP serverless. Amazing right? Want to know more about ICP? Follow Techgirl Khushi Let me know the best part you found about serverless ICP... #ICPhubs #ICPhubIndia #web3 #decentralization #India #crewsphere

Crypto Use Cases Part 3: The project I am working on deals with decentralized governance. My team built a web3 dApp that allow community members to submit proposals and vote, all on-chain dealing, in matters regarding the governance of the blockchains behind these projects. I think decentralized governance as a use case has a ton of room to grow. I think decentralized file management will be the backbone of the future decentralized “internet”. I think decentralized nodes running on peoples phones and computers will be huge. In the future these nodes will provide the “compute” for the future “decentralized internet”. Almost all the services that a cloud provider like AWS or Azure provide are prime targets for future decentralized versions of those services. At the end of the day I believe that in 10 or 20 years blockchain technologies and decentralized systems will be baked into everything we use.
