The arrival of AI presents a golden opportunity to shake up education. Instead of clinging to outdated methods, we can leverage AI to free us from rote tasks and refocus on what makes us human - collaboration, exploration, and a love of learning. This doesn't mean throwing everything out. The best new approaches will build on real-world experiences, address misconceptions in engaging ways, and celebrate the social aspects of knowledge creation. These ideas can be applied everywhere, from intimate seminars to large lectures, and across all disciplines. AI isn't a threat to education, it's a chance to create a more dynamic and intellectually stimulating world for everyone. #AI #education

🤔🎓 In today's rapidly evolving landscape of AI in education, navigating the rules and policies can feel like wandering without a map. Many guidelines are unclear, abstract, or simply non-existent. 💡 The best approach? Engage in open conversations with your students. 🗣️ This fosters transparency, builds trust, and ensures everyone knows the rules and are on the same page. Check out this insightful video featuring Professor Scott Rogers from the College of Southern Idaho as he explains how he kicks off these crucial conversations in the early weeks of class. 📚🚀 #AIinEducation #ClassroomConversations

AI and Academic Integrity: Embracing Technology for Transformative Education The recent article from Nature propels a critical dialogue on the interplay between AI and academic integrity, fundamentally challenging the prevailing notion that technology is merely a supplement to traditional learning methods. What if, instead of fearing AI as a purveyor of shortcuts, we embraced it as an essential catalyst for a transformative educational paradigm? The way we assess and authenticate knowledge must evolve; asking students to regurgitate facts is as outdated as chalkboards in a digital age. This conversation is not just about retaining academic rigour; it's about redefining how we perceive intelligence and creativity in students. Rather than ostracising AI for its capability to mimic human thought, we should leverage these tools to foster deeper critical thinking skills and autonomy in our learners. After all, isn't the goal of education to prepare individuals for a world where adaptability and innovation reign supreme? #AIinEducation #AcademicIntegrity #FutureOfLearning Link to original: https://lnkd.in/eZc5v-Cb

Remember the days of overhead projectors and mimeographed worksheets? Teachers were magicians, turning the mundane into marvelous lessons with nothing but chalk, paper, and an unyielding passion for imparting knowledge. Now, AI is reshaping how we approach teaching, offering tools that can personalize learning experiences and make education more engaging and efficient. Despite the occasional tech hiccup, our teachers have shown remarkable resilience and adaptability, blending traditional and modern methods to inspire their students. AI’s importance in education cannot be overstated. As Professor David De Cremer rightly said, "AI will not replace teachers, but teachers who use AI will replace those who do not." Let’s continue to support our teachers, embracing the chalkboards and the chatbots, the past and the future. Here’s to a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation, ensuring our students receive the best education possible. Read further For more Sunday Spill at : https://lnkd.in/dHiFdMYm

I've got AI to mark my student's exam answers!!! Recently, I've successfully tested Co-Pilot AI to mark student exam questions given as part of homework. The results were nothing short of impressive! Co-Pilot reviewed 50 student answers, provided accurate marks, and offered personalised feedback to each student. It even identified areas where students had gaps in their knowledge. While I’ll be auditing the AI’s output to ensure everything is spot on, I’m confident this is the start of a great partnership with AI in Business Studies. Overall, this highlights the incredible potential of AI to make the work of a teacher more productive and give us more time to tailor feedback to individual student needs. If you’re a fellow teacher curious about how I achieved this outcome, feel free to reach out – I’d love to share insights and experiences! #AI #Education #Innovation #EdTech #FutureOfLearning

"From Khan’s positive perspective, he foresees that in the near future, AI will enable life-long learning by putting education access in the hands of anyone who wants to learn any topic. Students and educators will both use AI assistants that can educate and inform them on any topic at the required level of depth, and explain in a way that is most easily understood for each individual learner." I appreciate this webinar - the AI topic comes up as a directive from campus leadership again and again, but many are left still grappling with what that means, "um...how do I / should I use AI in my day-to-day on campus?" There's also an enormous gap in our general understanding of AI (ex. ChatGPT writing a marketing campaign vs. TikTok actively building & adjusting an algorithm). The nuance to AI is vast and extreme. If you're AI questioning, tune in!
