We have taken it as a rule that one must... →Be aware of every single current affair. →Watch every episode of the trending web series. →Follow the news religiously and present themselves to others as an informed individual. But why is this necessary? How much more time, energy, and brainpower would you have available if you drastically cut your media consumption? How much more rested and peaceful would you feel if you were no longer excited or outraged by every scandal, breaking news, and potential crisis? One of the most powerful things you can do in today's hyper connected, 24/7 media world is to say - "I don't know."

**HOW TO INCREASE THE NET WORTH OF THE WORLD IN ONE EASY STEP** Get rid of this website. That's it. That's the 'solution'. Cheque in the mail, please, Planet Earth. Ah, we can but dream. But why do have this dream? It's because, like the business world as a whole, LinkedIn is, by and large, a cornucopia of inauthenticity. And, as human beings with an innate desire to forge real relationships with other human beings, we don't much care for artifice and self-aggrandisement. I could wang on about the sort of perverse incentives that turn otherwise sensible people into idiots when they log on to LinkedIn. But I think it's more real to say that I've been one of those idiots myself, many times, and probably will be again. These days I'm doing my best to avoid behaving like that. But in the meantime LinkedIn is one great big glass house, and I'm not about to start throwing stones. Better, instead, to have a good laugh about it all. We cannot think or debate our way out of the current chaos. The shift we need to execute needs to come from someplace other than cable news, political machination, intellectual debate, Substack posts, podcasts, or polemical books. There’s no way to argue this. People don’t listen to facts, anyway. They find the facts they need to fit their story, whether or not the facts are contextual or even true. Saving ourselves and each other is not a matter of convincing anyone of anything. What we need to offer each other manifests less like words than an embrace. It happens in real life, and through artistic or spiritual interventions that bring us together in pre-cognitive ways — before our belief systems mangle the essential transmission. What if we were to start a show/channel/podcast type thing with a panel of tech people who have become critics? Try to recreate the comic energy I see in my comments? I can run with it, but am tapped out resource-wise. Is it a pipe dream to think that we can find a backer that doesn't have an oligarch's agenda at the top of their funnel, and set up a thing where we can talk about tech and still survive in a saturated space? I have User Story Hour with guests but am bootstrapping it on my own, with nothing other than skills I have picked up over the years. Wanna collaborate on a panel show? Maybe even a revolving 24/7 live stream like radio where people come in and out or something? Surely there's something we can all do to make lemonade and make fun of everything as it all implodes on itself... there's so much comedy in tech at the moment, and I would love to create something entertaining (or even be a part of something like that... I just can't keep doing all of this on my own - I have hundreds of jokes and am good at rants... just... struggled to find my audience and so am wondering if there is anyone out there who wants to do something new/fun/inject energy into something by pooling resources and contacts etc)
