Week 27 of tracking my journey as a startup founder: It’s been a tough few weeks—heads down, all hands on deck. We're in that sink-or-swim phase of startup life, but we're determined to make it work. Here's what's been happening: We’ve been sifting through user feedback, looking for ways to really elevate our platform. One recurring theme stood out—goals are often tied to career growth, especially for young adults. I spoke with a user who created a goal to learn a new skill, did a mock project, and then said something that really hit me: "It’d be nice if this was a real project I got paid for." And I thought—why isn’t it? What if there was a way for students to gain real-world experience and for businesses to actually benefit from their work? Not just another internship or externship—those are great, but they’re often rigid and require a lot of oversight. So, we went back to the drawing board. We’ve built something new—a platform that not only connects students with businesses but also manages the entire project. The students get guided, step-by-step support, and businesses don’t have to worry about project management. It’s more than just a match; it’s a full-fledged system to get real work done. Now we’re beta testing, bringing startups and small businesses together with top-tier students for project-based work. And we’re doing it in a way that simplifies the process for everyone. Imagine describing the work you need done, connecting with a talented student, and being able to track their progress at every step. For students, it’s a chance to pad your resume with real-world experience, build meaningful relationships with future employers, and actually get paid for doing important work. Check out our demo and new site: www.tenacity828.com. We’re in it for the long haul, and I’d love to hear your thoughts!

𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗟𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴: 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗦𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗽! Let's stop romanticizing the 'passion project' narrative in startups. Everyone falls in love with the story of the driven founder who "follows his passion," but you all know it's not quite that easy if you've been deeply stuck in the trenches of startup life. 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵: 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀, 𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗮 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺, 𝗼𝗿 𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗻. Here’s what really keeps things moving: 𝟭.) 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲: Creativity and passion are important, but without discipline, you will never turn them into a sustainable business. I learned to structure my day into dealing with operational demands in Externship that could not be avoided, while creating a block of time to create some content on societal issues that warrant conversations. 𝟮.) 𝗔𝗱𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: It is easy to be tunnel-visioned when you're passionate about something, but startups demand constant adaptation. What worked for you in the last month might not work for next month, and passion alone won't help you pivot fast enough. 𝟯.) 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Here at Externship, I use storytelling as a means of reaching out to the students and startups towards opportunities that transcend and exceed mere placement and upskilling. Authentic connections evoke trust-which in itself is far more potent than mere passion. It wasn't passion when I joined Externship, the bridge that unites students and the world of real internships. And honestly, don't get me wrong-I genuinely care about wanting to help out students as they start their careers; every day is just heavy with gritty realities that no one says anything about-things like financial strain, sleepless nights, the relentless decision-making, or sometimes burnout from wearing too many hats. you name it. I am also running 𝗼𝗻𝗲.𝗺𝗮𝗻.𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗺𝗮, penning satirical short stories with cinematic twists. It is my creative outlet, but balancing both roles-as a content creator and startup founder has taught me one essential thing: 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘁. Actually, let's be honest about it. Now that the startup grind is more of a means to survive long enough in order for their dreams to become a reality, rather than a journey where passion ignites the fuel. It still runs because of passion, but the engine is built on perseverance, strategy, and a wee bit of luck. So if you're considering diving into the startup world or whatever creative venture it is, ask yourself, what happens when passion fades, and the tough days roll in? What then will keep you going? Have you built something purely on passion? How did you keep it alive when reality hit?

hi linkedin folks, i have always manifested my first post to be about something special, and this is truly special. i have always had the startup bug in me. from reading about them, to sort of starting one (started a platform to list and rent unused bicycles in my college), to tinkering and floating a marketing agency to finally stumbling upon an idea i am passionate about. more about that in a second, but first let me share with y'all the story of this idea. so, over the summer of 2024, i was interning at SAP as a product manager, and it was a bowl but the insights and networking opportunities which came as the bi-products of the internship were truly a fruit which was yet to be ripe. after my internship, i freelanced as a product manager and helped several early-stage founders to build/scale their products and most of these founders were from the network i had built. as a customary, i gave them a feedback form after we were done with project and my top inferences from that data were: - startups fail because of lack of product market fit. - startups fail because the market and it's size were either overdetermined or underdetermined. - startups fail because of lack of monetary means during "the few customers stage". - an idea remains an idea because the stepping stone for it to become a startup is not very sturdy most of the times. and eureka! earlyturtle.in was found, where Prajwal Raj Allumalla and I solve for the above listed problems. we are not building an agency, but envision to build a global community of builders, risk-takers and visionaries. if you believe that you can make a difference (cause we do), reach out to us. if you're building something or you invest in courageous entrepreneurs or if you're just a user but want your better solutions for your problems, reach us out. https://lnkd.in/daEFrnf9 our complete SaaS stack is very well on the track to be launched soon, and we are very excited. we are already in operations for almost a quarter now, and are well past "the few customers stage". we are also on the track of raising our pre-seed funding but if you think you can bring something more than just the funds, then we would love to have you on our cap table. cheers! connect with us. https://lnkd.in/dUV4DECQ ps: i hope my next post would be about something even more special.

Solving the Bench Problem in Software Companies: A Startup Solution In the software industry, managing project cycles can be challenging, especially for startups. At ArchLabs, we're introducing a solution to this common issue. Our model allows startups to leverage high-quality, ready-to-deploy interns undergoing rigorous training. These interns gain hands-on experience, making them valuable resources during high-demand periods while mitigating the bench problem. By tapping into this flexible talent pool, startups can: - Scale on-demand - Reduce downtime - Enhance cost-effectiveness I'm excited to pilot this model with Cardiff App Developers to address the bench problem efficiently. Focusing on trainee readiness, business alignment, and flexibility, our goal is to create a win-win scenario for startups and interns, making project cycle management an opportunity rather than a headache. #startupgrowth #techinterns #ArchLabs #teammanagement #softwaredevelopment

Catalyst XL was founded on the belief that there are millions of college students being funneled into 9-5 corporate careers when they should be out building things. These are students whose curiosity and creative capacity can't be contained. But they try their best to contain it, because that's what all their friends are doing, and what is reinforced by everyone around them. So many of us students sacrifice genuine achievement for "status". Maybe because we don't know any alternative. So Catalyst aims to be that alternative. We give students the skills and connections they need to catapult themselves into the world of startups, and we host a global community of students all aligned towards a common goal: to do something that matters as soon as possible. That might mean working with a startup, starting a startup, or building something else entirely. All we want is for you to do work that you care about, and meet tons of other people doing the same. Below I'll link our application. And if you scroll on that page, you'll find a bunch of free resources to help you start learning asap. Good luck and please DM me with any thoughts or questions. #autonomy #builders #building #startups #venture #internship #education #program #opportunity #students #university

Have skills, but no experience? No experience hence no job? Every student has experienced this cycle. I knew I had to break it. Today, I want to share something deeply personal and meaningful. About 5-6 years ago, I was just a student with a passion for designing. I spent hours on Canva and Adobe software's on my potato PC, perfecting my skills, but there was always one burning question: How do I turn this skill into something that pays? Every opportunity I looked into asked for one thing…. experience. But how do you gain experience when you’re just starting out? As a student, you don’t have a degree, you don’t have credentials, and you don’t have years of work under your belt. You're caught in a loop of needing experience in order to gain experience. This challenge extended beyond just earning money. When I wanted to start my own initiatives, such as my nonprofit organization Youth Welfare. I needed people who were committed, talented, and passionate, but as a student with limited resources, I couldn't afford to hire experts with years of experience. Even finding volunteers who shared the same drive was tough. I quickly learned that in business, your team is everything. For Startups: The Skill Hive provide cost-effective, skilled and motivated interns who are trained and have gone through different stages of our cohorts, perfecting their skills. Whether you’re launching a new venture or need support in scaling, we’ve got the talent that’s ready to help you succeed. For Newbies: We offer practical and experience-oriented courses that don’t just teach you a skill; they guide you on how to monetize it. You’ll learn, practice, and then apply that knowledge in real-world internships. And we won’t stop there—we’ll connect you with opportunities that can lead to paid positions, helping you break that cycle of “no experience, no job.” The Skill Hive was created out of necessity, fueled by the challenges I faced and the desire to help others overcome them. It’s a place where skills meet opportunity, where learners become earners, and where startups find the support they need to thrive. I’m incredibly excited to finally share this journey with you all. This is just the beginning, and I can’t wait to see where The Skill Hive goes from here. Let’s build something great together. #TheSkillHive #Entrepreneurship #SkillDevelopment #Startups #Motivation

“Learning new things is one of my favourite memories of NextGen. It was simply an ocean of knowledge waiting to be consumed by my unbound curiosity.” — the quote, from a NextGen student, that best sums up the experience of joining the team. Applications to join the 2025 team close in 48 hours. -- One of those things that makes me feel most like myself is helping people find and do their life’s work. I like to think that NextGen plays a small role in that journey for many of the students who join us. A beautiful part of NextGen is watching students with deep curiosity and agency use NextGen as a platform to create something meaningful and move toward what they’re deeply passionate about. Like Viveca and Mary, who built the Women’s VC Mentorship Program. They brought in 14 industry mentors, and the 7 mentees walked away feeling 2x as represented in their career paths. Or Jamal, who initiated and led the creation of FoundersHack, a startup hackathon that inspired nearly 200 students to build something new. The best part? They don’t just stop at NextGen. They quickly go on to do bigger things. Donald concurrently works at Heffron.ai, a highly promising student-founded startup. Shae will kick off 2025 as a software dev at Apple. Emily and Quianna will soon be interning at startups in SF. And, Jamal took a one-way flight to SF, chasing a dream, and proved bold bets pay off — landing an internship at the one startup we dreamed of interning at. And this is just a few from the 2024 cohort. Backing young ambition will always start with the daring founders we invest in. But this past year made me appreciate how it extends to the students who join the NextGen, too. In 2025, we’re making the student experience at NextGen better. New joiners will be thrown in the deep end from the very start, with our revamped 8-week VC bootcamp designed to teach them how to swim out of it through drive, curiosity, and collaboration. Applications close in 48 hours. So if you’re a student who wants to be challenged, don’t be left wondering 'what if' — check out the ‘Careers’ page on our website and apply.

Here’s why interning at a startup can truly fast-track your growth: 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬-𝐎𝐧 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 & 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐂𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠-𝐄𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡 💻: At the startup, I was immediately immersed in working with the latest technologies. I had the chance to dive into tools and platforms that are shaping the future, gaining practical experience that has helped me stay ahead of the curve. 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 🤝: One of the biggest perks of interning at a startup is the opportunity to work closely with senior team members. Unlike in larger companies, I’ve had direct access to experienced professionals, where I’ve gained invaluable mentorship and feedback that has accelerated my learning and growth. 𝐎𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐖𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐌𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐭𝐬 🎩: Flexibility is key in a startup. As an intern, I’ve been exposed to a variety of roles and tasks—from tech development to marketing and customer service. This diversity has allowed me to build a broad skill set, making me more versatile and marketable for future opportunities. 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐅𝐚𝐬𝐭-𝐏𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐝, 𝐃𝐲𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 :⚡ Startups move quickly, and I’ve learned how to thrive in that fast-paced environment. The challenges have sharpened my problem-solving skills and taught me how to adapt quickly. It’s helped me develop the resilience needed to succeed in today’s competitive job market. 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 & 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 🌐: In a startup, the team is close-knit, which has given me the chance to build meaningful relationships with my colleagues and senior leaders. This network has already opened doors to valuable opportunities and connections that I know will benefit me in the future. 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤 & 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐬 🌍: What stands out most is the sense of impact I’ve had. At the startup, I’ve seen how my work directly influences the company’s success. It’s incredibly rewarding to see the results of my efforts come to life and know that my contributions matter. Interning at a startup isn’t just about gaining experience—it’s about rapidly growing, embracing challenges, and making a meaningful impact. If you're eager to learn, innovate, and accelerate your career, a startup internship is the perfect place to start! #PersonalExperience #Internship #StartupLife #CareerGrowth #LearningExperience #TechInnovation #Networking #Mentorship #FutureLeaders

If you haven't checked us out, Catalyst XL is on a mission to open a new category of career paths for students by helping them start or join startups. Cohort 4 is a 4-week program where you'll learn everything you need to know about the startup ecosystem, working with startups, making good decisions at an early-stage startup, and more. All while networking with an incredible peer group of ambitious students from across the globe. Students who complete the program become Catalyst Fellows, and join our year-round community that will continuously support your journey as you level up. We'll connect you with a startup internship, or with the right people to support your own venture. It's fully virtual with flexible meeting times. Check us out with the link in the comments for more info. And to boost your chances of acceptance, leave a comment about what the primary thing is that you'd like to learn during your time with Catalyst. We're doing this because we know your school won't. We know what's important to them is that you get a good placement and boost their stats. But we know you don't care about that. You care about doing fulfilling work. And that's what we've built this program to help you do. #opportunity #startups #founders #builders #college #university #entrepreneurship #venture #innovation #internship #recruiting
