Application of Glucopuncture for chronic pain in the dorsal and lumbar region. The patient received injections with glucose 5% (or dextrose 5%) into the superficial fascia on the dorsal midline. With these injections, the lumbar pain also disappeared (without giving injections in that area: Prof Lam from Hong Kong explained this phenomenon as an effect of fascial tensegrity). These injections are descibed as fascial origin region (FOR) injections. #pain #glucopuncture

Osmolality and enteral feed in pediatric The osmolality of full-strength isotonic formulas is similar to the osmolality of normal body fluids, approximately 300 mOsm/L. Formula with a higher osmolality than that of normal body fluids produces an osmotic effect in the stomach and small intestine; this hyperosmolality draws water into the GI tract to dilute the concentration of the formula. An influx of water into the GI tract may cause diarrhea, nausea, cramping, and distention.

Medication Linked With Glaucoma: ▪️Calcium channel blocker use is associated with glaucoma. ▪️People who used calcium channel blockers were found to have, on average, 39% higher odds of glaucoma compared with people who did not take them. ▪️Calcium channel blocker use was also associated with thinner macular retinal nerve fiber layer (mRNFL) and macular ganglion cell–inner plexiform layer (mGCIPL)-both objective, structural glaucoma-related parameters. ▪️There was no link found between calcium channel blocker use and IOP. ▪️Calcium channel blockers may represent a modifiable risk factor for glaucoma. The Benefits of Zinc Oxide - Historically, topical zinc has been used in the treatment of wounds for over 3,000 years. Zinc is a metallic trace element that is essential for good health and is second only to iron as the most abundant element in a healthy human’s body. Roughly one-fifth of our total zinc content is found within our skin (Maher, 2015) and it plays an important role in the body in our immune system, antibody production, cell structure and integrity, tissue maintenance, and wound healing (Kogan, et al, 2017). So, it makes sense that if we are deficient in zinc, wound healing could be compromised. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gAcuMBGS #woundhealing #woundcare

Healthtalk:39 Submental fat reduction using lipolytic injections • Submental fat reduction through lipolytic injections, commonly known as "fat-dissolving injections" or "double chin injections," involves the use of compounds like deoxycholic acid to break down fat cells in the submental area. • This non-surgical procedure effectively aims at contouring the jawline and reducing the appearance of a double chin. The injections work by targeting and destroying fat cells, which are eventually metabolized and naturally eliminated by the body over time. • While the procedure is considered to be relatively quick and minimally invasive, it is still considered essential to consult with a qualified professional to discuss potential risks and expected outcomes of the procedure. https://lnkd.in/gyezS-rg Img: https://lnkd.in/ghisDc4t
