Before joining DHL, I wasn't familiar with the ‘Great Place To Work’ certification, but now I can vouch for its authenticity. The warmth and kindness I've experienced here are truly exceptional. I still remember when Zarif Tazwar Khan Bhai personally was introducing me to the team and how warmly each colleague welcomed. They not only made me feel valued but also count as a part of the DHL Express family from day one. I must say, I have the best team to work with. For instance, prior to the Eid vacation, ASM Razeev Hassan Bhai went out of his way to provide eid salami. 🎁 This thoughtful gesture wasn't just a simple gift; it was a reflection of how deeply our traditions are respected and celebrated at DHL. It made me realize the importance of cultural inclusivity in our workplace. Furthermore, Md. September marked 6 years at DHL Supply Chain...In six years, life can change in more ways than we can imagine. My journey has included getting married, becoming a mom, relocating to another country and continent, and adapting to a whole new culture. Each of these milestones came with its own set of challenges and joys, a reminder that growth often happens in the middle of all the moving pieces. Throughout this, DHL DSC has been the one constant—a place of stability, growth, and support (Big Yellow Machine). It’s incredible to reflect on how much I accomplished not only as a professional but as a person. From changing and growing into three different roles, highlighting the necessity of resilience, adaptability, and a strong sense of purpose. My journey isn’t just about career growth; it’s about thriving through change and leading by example not only for myself but for other women starting their professional career and for the people back in my home country. Reflecting on Key Learnings from This Semester As we wrap up this semester, I’ve gained invaluable insights into how organizations are prioritizing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). One key takeaway came from my assessment of American Airlines’ DEI efforts, which I discussed in my recent presentation. American Airlines has been dedicated to fostering an inclusive workplace by setting clear goals around diversity representation, investing in employee resource groups, and committing to equitable practices in hiring and promotions. One standout effort is their focus on building a pipeline for diverse talent, ensuring that diverse candidates have equal opportunities to thrive within the company. I was particularly impressed by their focus on continuous accountability and transparent reporting through their annual DEI reports, which help track progress and challenges. This focus on both internal culture and external community engagement is a great model for companies looking to make real progress in DEI.
