A few months ago, I bought an early bird ticket for The Podcast Show. If I’m honest, while hopeful I didn’t know what to expect. To an extent it was a speculative purchase. One I had hoped would pay off.
Two days of what seemed to be a potentially busy schedule. I thought perhaps I would get some interesting tips and maybe meet someone who might make an interesting guest for our Virtually Anything Goes podcast.
Last week, I spent those two days at the show, which took place at London’s Business Design Centre.
What was the outcome? First of all, I was (very) pleasantly surprised by the quality of the sessions. Secondly, I was encouraged to see that the #podcasting industry was very self-aware of its challenges (particularly around success metrics and measurement) and appears to be moving closer to an approach that is commonplace in B2B digital strategic marketing.
On a practical and personal note, this industry is magnificently personal, authentic, and immensely collaborative. Personal agendas were mostly non-existent and a sense of collaboration was very present.
I tremendously enjoyed listening to James Cridland and many other expert speakers. I very much appreciated personal time and advice from Chris North, Harry Morton, Christopher Fitton, Dixi Stewart, and Mark Asquith
Big names such as James Corden, Scott Greenstein, and Jordan Harbinger were present and sharing insights both on stage and in-person.
#Ai is much talked about across all sectors. Seeing how heavily it is already practically utilised in podcasting is both surprising and encouraging.
Were my expectations exceeded? Yes. Did I find a speaker for my podcast? Yes. Did I get both tactical and strategic advice? Yes. Will I attend again? Yes. Has it inspired me? Yes. Does podcasting have a bright future? Yes.
Very much looking forward to going again next year 👍🏻
Did you attend? What were your thoughts?
