Three Internship Types: Which one is YOURS? 1. It's basically a huge interview Major investment banks do this. You provide no value. Rotate around in short rotations. If they like you, you'll get a return offer for next year. 2. Actually add value This is what we do at Dragin. You get paid, and you build something that improves our product. If you completely wow us, there is definitely potential for a full-time offer. 3. Unpaid internship You actually perform tasks as a regular employee...only for $0. They are usually happy to keep you on for as long as possible. I put extremely underpaid employees in this same bucket. This is what we covered in our networking call on Sunday.
