I think this is a great post by Stephen Fern This is something I discuss during my 1-1 coaching looking at your ‘wheel of life’ where we identify your strengths and weaknesses… #givingback is part of this and what it gives you, a sense of well-being, rewarding (not financial). We could all give £20 but can you give 20 minutes of your valuable time? Giving back is also one of the NHS England 5 steps to #mentalhealth. I’ve been coaching a billionaire myself and this is very apt…money isn’t everything, it does play a role in your wheel of life as well, but is it your priority? Alongside giving back is HAPPINESS and GIVING BACK can link in with this…may be it provides contentment etc. Worth checking on a scale of 1-10 how much are you giving back? Can you give more as this can be rewarding no matter who you are… Keep strong 💪
This is the singer Jon Bon Jovi. his personal fortune is $410 million, and he washes trays and dishes in his chain of restaurants (Soul Kitchen in Newark, New Jersey) created by him for the homeless, where they eat for free forever Real fulfillment comes from applying your own unique skills to something you feel passionate about. It’s not measured by financial gain. I am privileged to spend every day talking to inspiring and passionate people who have ‘found their why’ Have you found yours? ❤️

Guilty as charged for another Christmas post, but 'tis the season, and the festivities are simply irresistible! 🎄 Fellow legal practitioners, here's a festive thought experiment: If your law firm was Santa 🎅 delivering good news to clients, and you're one of the trusty reindeer pulling the sleigh to make it all happen... which reindeer would you be? 🦌 Dasher - Known for speed and efficiency 🦌Dancer - Graceful and precise in execution 🦌Prancer - Confident and proud of their work 🦌Vixen - Clever and shrewd problem-solver 🦌Comet - Natural leader, inspires others 🦌Cupid - Brings people together, relationship builder 🦌Donder (Thunder) - Powerful presence, makes an impact 🦌Blitzen (Lightning) - Quick-thinking and decisive 🦌Rudolph - Innovative, finds unique solutions to challenges So, legal eagles, which reindeer matches your professional style? Would love to hear your thoughts! (Feel free to blame the eggnog later for this festive career introspection 😉) My own would be in the first comment below. #christmas #xams #2024 #celebration #holiday #lawyers #legal

And then there were five! Everyone is looking pretty settled after four weeks of relative disruption. It seems that newcomer Sioux (front right) feels like she belongs in spite of her reputation for agressive behaviour and a defensive mindset. There are some things we did to help build this cohesive team. Created a safe physical and emotional setting for everyone, allowing the space and time to become familiar with a new environment. Didn't panic when there were conflict and power struggles (well tried not to anyway) Allowed time for orientation before asking for too much. Proceeded slowly by gradually introducing new information new processes and new relationships. Offered support by connecting compatable buddies. Communicated clear expectations of behaviour roles and performance. Checked in regularly to see how things are going. #saltahorses #learningandevelopment #formingstormingnormingperforming

As I do every morning, I make sure to read Our Daily Bread. Today's food for thought came from Matthew 6:10 regarding a Kingdom-Shaped Workplace. Jesus teaches us to pray for God's will to be done "on earth as it is in heaven" (v10). This prayer can help us imagine what our workplaces would be like under God's rule, where our "daily bread" is earned and our "debtors" forgiven (v11-12). As employees, it means working with "all our heart...for the Lord (Colossians 3:23)." As employers, it means giving staff what's "right and fair" (4:1). Whatever our role, whether paid or voluntary, it means tending to the well-being of those we serve with. Imagine how things could be different if God were in charge of our neighborhoods and workplaces. Because when He is, people flourish. (Sheridan Voysey)
