We all know #AI in healthcare has enormous potential. But do we know which AI models cater best to our industry? 🏥🤖 🌐 A group of health systems, led by Mass General Brigham, will be testing and comparing the latest AI offerings in simulated clinical settings. So far, Emory Healthcare, the University of Wisconsin Department of Radiology, the University of Washington - Department of Radiology, and American College of Radiology will pit AI models against each other and produce public rankings of the tools by the end of the year. The #healthsystems will initially test 9 models, including products from Microsoft, Google, Amazon Web Services (AWS), OpenAI and Harrison.ai, assessing draft report generation, key findings, differential diagnosis and other factors. 📊 👉 Read Healthcare Dive’s full article for more information: https://lnkd.in/dKtND-nf, and subscribe to DHI to receive weekly #healthtech news like this! #DigitalHealth #AIHealthcare

https://lnkd.in/gncCSptH AI is beginning to touch all aspects of life. I think healthcare can benefit from it, but my major concern is if this technology is ready for healthcare. This article touches on some of those important concerns like misdiagnosis, discriminatory/stereotypical decisions, and patient privacy. Are we going to have physicians start to get computer science background to help guide and grow this technology? I'd love to hear your thoughts! #healthcare #AI #physicians #modernmedicine

So glad to see my old client, Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), taking a progressive approach to understanding AI and its impact on healthcare. In their recent interview with James Weinstein of Microsoft, they dive into the ways AI has the potential to improve patient care, enhance efficiency, and drive innovation across the industry. It’s encouraging to see such a progressive approach from an organization at the forefront of medical education and patient outcomes. Read more about their insights and initiatives here: https://lnkd.in/e337HmXj. Thanks for sharing the article Anthony Drake-Brockman! #AI #HealthcareInnovation #PatientCare #FutureOfMedicine

Generative AI in healthcare sounds promising. It's impressive to see tech giants teaming up with healthcare providers to personalize patient experiences, but there are valid concerns about its readiness. 🏥 🤖 While there's promise, especially in medical imaging, we need to proceed cautiously, ensuring patient privacy and regulatory compliance. Yet, amidst these concerns, there's optimism about the potential of generative AI, particularly in areas like medical imaging and text correction. Looking forward to seeing how this area will evolve.💡 #AIinHealthcare #GenerativeAI #PatientExperience https://lnkd.in/ggTJ7jsR

In a recent healthcare conference in Los Angeles, AI's role in medicine took center stage, particularly in the competitive AI medical scribe market. Abridge's $150 million Series C round grabbed attention, reflecting the industry's focus. Harjinder Sandhu of Microsoft emphasized the value of AI scribes in healthcare workflows, highlighting their low-risk nature with human oversight. However, challenges remain, especially in using AI to summarize patient records accurately, a development likely a year or two away. Data privacy is a paramount concern, with AI systems described as "memory-less" but with a layered software mediating interactions. John Brownstein of Boston Children's Hospital emphasized the need for secure AI utilization, detailing their collaboration with Microsoft to create a separate cloud instance for GPT access while safeguarding patient information. Their initiative includes a web portal for hospital staff to access ChatGPT for various tasks, ensuring compliance and usability. #HealthcareAI #Innovation #dataprivacy With the Specialist combines artificial intelligence with a board certified neurologist to enhance neurological care in the primary care setting. #withthespecialist #neurology #artificialintelligenceinhealthcare https://lnkd.in/gsWJxpAV https://lnkd.in/gExrwg2P
