In recent years, the NHS has rapidly evolved with the widespread integration of digital technology. Continuing advancements have seen ICSs, and by extension, ICBs and GP practices leverage these tools in different ways to enhance patient experience, improve access to care, and promote patient-centric approaches. Now, with NHS plans for 2024/25 stating an aim to further “increase digital maturity and ensure a core level of infrastructure, digitisation and skills,” different systems will have their own individual priorities for health tech over the coming 12 months. As systems strive to reach maturity, we explore the transformative power of technology and the imperative to embrace digital approaches. https://hubs.li/Q02v94RZ0 #NHS #Healthcare #PrimaryCare

The Fee-for-Service Model is Dead. Long Live the Fee-for-Service Model. In the chaos of a failing U.S. healthcare system, the shift to value-based care is often misunderstood and poorly operationalized. While legacy providers continue to squeeze water from a rock, the ripple effects are undeniable—clinician burnout, worsening outcomes, and growing public disillusionment. But it doesn’t have to be this way. True value-based care can be achieved through the alignment of stakeholders, the integration of advanced technologies, and the education of consumers. We have immense potential when paired with the gold-standard operation and optimal utilization of available technologies. Their success hinges on strong leadership committed to improving population health and delivering real value. We can learn from many successful examples, and the path forward is clear if we focus on the right innovations and partnerships. The future of healthcare doesn't need to follow the trajectory of the past—change is possible. As the population ages and birth dates decline, how can we improve efficiency of healthcare in Australia? Through building Xplor and Kismet I’ve come across so many layers of admin burden that can easily be automated with technology. We should be spending our time and effort with people we love, not navigating complex healthcare systems. Policy makers should be considering the human at the end of the system in their design. How do you think we can make the healthcare system easier to navigate?
