Convenience stores and truck stops with commercial truck chargers seems like a perfect solution for solving the problem about where to find available semi truck parking spaces that can host Megawatt rapid chargers. Though a 360kW charger (discussed below) is not 1,000 kW that can rapidly recharge a heavy commercial BEV semi truck, it is still a step up from a level 3 Tesla Supercharger with 72-250kW output. The USA will need meaningful grid upgrades if we expect BEV semi trucks to replace a fraction of diesel trucks. "Circle K in Sweden announced that it opened 16 new charging points for electric trucks. The charging points are adapted for heavy traffic, with an output of 360 kW.
