Protecting Our Heart is a Lifelong Mission! With a healthy heart, you can do more of what you love. We end Heart Health Awareness month with few notes on topics covered in February. Take these “Heart-Healthy Steps” to continue to improve your heart health. 1. Make a list of what motivates you to lead a healthy lifestyle. Is it an upcoming celebration, your children, or grandchildren, or just feeling great each day? Make your list and reference it when you need the motivation to keep making changes. 2. Set a goal. Start off with realistic goals – for example walking for 15 minutes daily or picking healthier options for meals. 3. Celebrate success! Be proud of yourself for reaching your heart health goals. The small steps can make a big difference. 4. Tell others about your heart health goals and ask for their support.
