Good for you! I know it's not easy. Starting in October, we are bombarded with images of candy, desserts, sweets and unhealthy snacks. You don't have to change your good diet just because a holiday rolls around. Stay strong and remember that short term indulgence in junk won't wreck you. It's the every day food choices we make that have long term affects. The other interesting thing about cleaning up the diet is that after a relatively short time, you no longer want the junk! If you are looking for some healthier foods, check out my Amazon store https://lnkd.in/gcfMu_9z If you need help with cravings and fear you are going to start eating the stuff that you have successfully avoided and you want to stay on your healthy diet, reach out for a call. I always offer a free mini meeting to get to you and find out what your health goals are. I can show you an easy technique to get you started on losing those cravings. #healthylifestyle #holistichealing #healthcoaching #stressreduction #BusyProfessionals #busymom #efttapping #worryfreediet #MindBodySpirit

I can't tell you how many times my kids have complained about the lack of food in our house. 🏠🍽️ Full disclosure—our freezers, pantry, and fridge are full! 🥦🍗 What the kids mean is there's nothing "ready-made" like pizza 🍕, chicken nuggets 🍗, corn dogs 🌭, etc. in our home. My common response is, "Yes, there is plenty of food. Eat leftovers or 𝑚𝑎𝑘𝑒 𝑠𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔." That's not the response they are often looking for. 😅 It all came full circle when my 13-year-old talked to me last week about the struggles most of the other kids in his gym class are having with endurance and even coordination, but he is running circles around them. 🏃♂️💨 I reminded him that he is eating good, quality food 🥗🍎 and he gets outside every day to exercise. There are no video games 🎮 during the week, and we home cook most of our meals. 🍳👩🍳 The moral of the story is what you purchase at the store matters. 🛒💚 We are all pressed for time. ⏰ With 5 kids in tow, I get it more than most! But preparing meals is sooo important, and many people have lost interest in cooking or think it's a waste of time. 😔 It makes a difference in the health and well-being of your family, especially growing kids. Their bodies need the proper fuel to grow and thrive! 🚀💪 Comment below if you agree or disagree ⤵️😊 #HealthyEating #CleanEating #Nutrition #EatWell #HealthyLifestyle #WholeFoods #HealthyChoices #FitFood #NourishYourBody #ElderberryQueen #Lindsey_Elderberryqueen

Happy National Food Day, everyone! Today we celebrate healthy, whole foods that fuel our bodies and support a sustainable planet. But did you know that eating the right foods can also help prevent kidney stones? Kidney stones can be painful, but your diet plays a big role in prevention! Incorporating foods rich in calcium like leafy greens, almonds, and yogurt can reduce your risk. Stay hydrated too, water is your best friend when it comes to flushing out those pesky crystals! It’s also wise to reduce your intake of foods high in oxalate, a common culprit for kidney stones. Spinach, rhubarb, and beets are some examples of high-oxalate foods, but don’t worry, you can still enjoy them in moderation! A good balance with citrus fruits like lemons and oranges can help as well. Let’s use today as a reminder to make healthier choices that protect not just our overall health, but our kidneys too! And don’t forget to share your kidney-friendly recipes or tips using the hashtag #NationalFoodDay. Here’s to eating well and keeping those kidneys happy! #HealthyEating #KidneyStonePrevention #StayHydrated

BREAKING NEWS: I eat bread! 🤯 I often get asked if it's ok to eat bread. Sometimes clients will say things like "I know it's bad, but I had bread for lunch" - speaking as though it's a forbidden food and they're making a confession for repentance. This is because bread has been demonised, and now it's common for people fear it and see it as a 'bad food.' But, through trying to avoid eating bread they are left struggling to come up with quick and easy lunches each day. This leads to skipping meals or under eating at lunch time, and then feeling extreme hunger later in the day, running the risk of random snacking. I'm a registered nutritionist, and I eat bread MOST days! Bread is absolutely a healthy food - of course some breads offer more health benefits than others, like wholemeal variations, but the inclusion of bread in your diet is NOT a bad thing, in fact quite the opposite! What are your favourite ways to enjoy bread? #NutritionCoach #Bread #Health #DietCulture #MythBusting
