Let's rattle some cages........ Walking around the Care show in London last week, I noticed that many (if not all) of the digital care system suppliers had the words “Person-Centred” on their banners, brochures & literature. Whilst I totally understand why……has “Person-Centred” become “buzzy?” That is – it has to be mentioned but doesn’t really mean anything? Tim Dallinger explained to me a while ago that the concept of person-centred has little to do with the system you are using but is all about the attitude & approach to the care you provide. Julie Garrity told me (in no uncertain terms I would add 😁) that the person’s outcomes should form the foundations of your whole care approach. So……..if your care plans are written correctly, your risks are properly documented and the care you give is properly recorded & evidenced etc, it seems to me that from a system point of view, THAT is person-centred, NOT the system you are using to document things. Wouldn’t it be better if digital systems were designed to be “Outcome-Based”, referencing what is wanted and required from our person’s point of view to the actual care that is provided? Linking all these things together so that everyone can see a proper care pathway. It will come as no surprise that this is exactly what we did when we developed Corton. Proper outcome-based care planning and provision from the very start. You might have seen, we are offering a zero- commitment, no-credit card, 2 month free trial to anyone who would like to have a look at Corton. Please just DM me and let’s get a conversation going.

As we gear up for the holiday season, it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle. However, one of the best gifts you can give yourself and your family is the peace of mind that comes from planning ahead for healthcare expenses. Taking the time now to make decisions will help simplify things later, allowing you to focus more on what truly matters—time with your loved ones. #HealthcarePlanning #FinancialWellness #FamilyFirst #CaregivingJourney

It's crucial to prepare for unexpected healthcare expenses, especially during the holiday season when stress levels can be high. Planning ahead can alleviate some of that stress and allow for more quality time with loved ones. #FamilyFirst #FamilyCaregivers

Thanksgiving dinner conversations can be tricky. The golden rule is to avoid politics—but what about healthcare? Healthcare is inherently political, and debates about it can get heated fast. But with the right approach, you can talk shop without losing family members. Why does this matter? Many of us in healthcare live and breathe these topics, so it’s natural to want to discuss them. But poorly-timed or overly technical conversations can bore—or even alienate—your audience (cough cough, family). Too often, we choose the wrong topic to talk about (like Medicare Advantage plans) or barge into unrelated discussions (“Speaking of pie, let’s talk GLP-1 medications!”). And let’s not forget the risk of running into Aunt Sally, who suddenly knows everything about private equity. What’s the solution? Follow my 7 rules for talking healthcare at the Thanksgiving dinner table. 100% effective 100% of the time. 📩 Read the article here: https://lnkd.in/e_pB_3gh

In healthcare, simply being kind isn't enough. High ratings and occasional gestures of love towards our patients fall short of what truly transformative care requires. At AdventHealth Fish Memorial, we know that doing our jobs well is just the beginning. We ask ourselves: What services are missing? How can we go beyond the expected to truly serve our community? Building a team that consistently cares with a deep, committed passion is our goal. This is how we redefine healthcare—to ensure every interaction is not just sufficient, but exceptional. How can we, as a community, elevate our standards to meet this vision?

As a healthcare professional, you're always giving so much to others. But here’s a reminder: caring for yourself isn't a sign of weakness — it's how you keep showing up strong, day after day. When you make space for your own well-being, you unlock even greater capacity to support your patients, your teams, and yourself. Imagine the impact if we all made self-care a priority. Let's take that first step today. #HealthcareLeadership #SelfCareForHealthcare #ThrivingTogether #CompassionStartsWithYou

Lately, I’ve been thinking about what’s been happening with United Healthcare and the tragedy surrounding their CEO. The public response says so much—it’s not just about what happened, but about how disconnected these big healthcare companies have become from the people they’re supposed to serve. Healthcare isn’t just business. It’s people. It’s about trust, relationships, and showing up when people need you the most. Somewhere along the way, a lot of companies forgot that. They stopped listening. They stopped communicating. And that’s why people are frustrated and hurting. In 2025, I believe this has to change. Businesses in healthcare need to realign with their purpose—serving people. They need to ask: • Are we listening to our community? • Are we making their lives better? • Are we showing up when it matters? This is why I started Care4Aging. I wanted to create something real—something that puts people first. Caregivers, seniors, families—they deserve better. They deserve connection, support, and solutions that actually help. If you’re running a business in healthcare, I hope you’re paying attention. The world is changing, and people are speaking up. In the end, it’s simple: if you don’t care about people, you have no business being in healthcare. For me, 2025 is all about showing up for the people I serve. Because at the end of the day, purpose and people come first. Money will follow purpose. When value is given. Always.
