The innovative pharmaceutical industry needs full support. It is the only true, remaining Belgian industry with global impact and still going strong. But it needs support. Diminishing clinical studies, late and lesser reimbursements of approved innovative medicines are indicators of a need for urgent positive action by the Belgian federal government. Without we will see negative impacts on patient healthcare, innovation, export and economic growth. It should be high on the agenda of the negotiating parties for the next federal government. I have been invited by Kerlijne Everaet to discuss in #DeMarkt at VRT NWS the challenges the innovative pharmaceutical industry is facing in Europe. A lot is at stake for Belgium since the biopharmaceutical sector is vital for our economy and public health.
