"Between every two pines is a doorway to a new world." - John Muir Where do you go to escape the chaos of life? For me, the forest is a sanctuary, a sacred altar of the earth where I find peace among the trees. I gaze up at these towering sentinels, standing tall yet firmly rooted in the fragrant earth, and I try to learn from their quiet strength. Trees weather the storms by bending with the wind; they root themselves deeply, forging strong connections; and they adapt gracefully to the ever-changing world. Are you craving a tree change? Whether it’s the Peruvian Amazon, an ancient forest in Sweden or a Costa Rican cloud forest, there’s a sanctuary waiting for you. A tree change might be exactly what you need. Though there’s no major import or export attached to Iceland’s contribution to the world, yet there lurks a sense of Power and awe underneath the ground. Iceland is filled with natural beauty; mesmerizing, unique and untouched. The landscape is vast and open. Having only fewer trees, the minute you enter Iceland, everything is visible from a distance, the air can be felt. The distant Ocean provides a beautiful backdrop to the barren ground, which continues to evolve.Sometimes its just huge protruding rocks, next minute everything looks hammered, followed by scattered greenery-Landscape keeps changing! North is surrounded by huge mountains, sharp, narrow, towering above each other. Rivers and streams appear at every nook and corner, providing picturesque scenery. Valleys are encompassed by rugged highlands. All the surroundings are so powerful, and as a visitor you get intimidated by their presence . Iceland is unscathed Nature, and every object in wilderness reminds us of its immense authority .Huge, wet, towering waterfalls speak of their incredible force and pressure.Lurking Mountains appear out of nowhere, and remind us of their strength and huge dominance .The peaceful and calm ocean can at once change to heavy, strong waves!! The weather itself can be harsh and destructive.Nature should not be taken lightly, its a huge force which should be treated with respect and gentleness.Being in Iceland reminds us of how small we are in comparison to Nature.

⏳🌊Time is almost up In life we take many things for granted, such as having an #ocean to vacation at 🌊 Today is #worldoceanday and who knows me, knows that the ocean is my retreat. I found an almost intact tiny sea urchin on a beach in Ibiza and it made my (holi)day. Yet, my recent travel has also shown me, once again, that the ocean is not in a good state and that many people do not seem to care at all (UNESCO state of the ocean report https://lnkd.in/dhxq3fuN). I think the problem is that people still do not know enough about how important the ocean is for life on earth. This is why I want to share some interesting facts that you might not be aware of, but are highly relevant to all of us: 🌊The deep sea is the largest world habitat. Why is there so little effort to protect it? Why do we even consider deep sea mining? 🌎 Over 71% of the world surface is ocean, yet only 8% is protected. Shouldn’t we care a bit more considering this? 🐋 Whales store more carbon dioxide in their bodies than trees. One whale can capture an average of 33 tons of carbon dioxide over its lifespan. A live oak tree, one of the most efficient carbon-capturing tree species, captures roughly 12 tons of carbon dioxide over a maximum 500-year lifespan. Why don’t we protect them properly? 🪸You hate algae when swimming? Think about this: Algae are the most important photosynthesizing organisms on 🌍 as they capture more of the sun’s energy and produce more oxygen than all 🌱 combined. 🦈 180 (!) sharks die each minute by the hands of humans. There are 5 deadly sharks attacks each year. Time is almost up to take action. If we sit tight and do nothing, not only our next vacation could be endangered, but our home-planet earth. What part will you play? #oceanconservation #marinelife #worldoceansday
