Why are we still allowing preventable tragedies when NARCAN® could be in the hands of every teacher, coach, and parent? Accidental poisonings are the leading cause of unexpected harm among teens and young adults in the U.S. The solution? Widespread access to NARCAN® Nasal Spray in schools, dorms, and public spaces. Most Americans agree it’s time to act and provide lifesaving tools where they're needed most. Let's make protection a priority for our youth today. As parents, nothing is more important than the safety of our children. But do we really know if their school is providing the secure environment they deserve? Every child should feel safe, nurtured, and protected in their learning space. Let’s come together to ensure that our children have the safe spaces they need to grow and thrive. We can start raising awareness by joining the #safespacesforschoolchildren movement online, advocating for better infrastructure, and supporting initiatives that prioritize the safety and well-being of our kids. Together, we can create a future where every child learns without fear. #SafeSpacesForSchoolChildren #SafeSpacesByTIOF #ProtectSchoolChildren #ProtectSchoolChildrenWithTIOF #EmpowerWomenandYouth

Family resource centers are the most effective way to reduce almost every childhood risk factor. Really! Research based. If you’re interested in how to improve outcomes for kids, read the study below and find out where your local FRC is.
PCA America’s Arizona State chapter is collaborating with partners including FIRST THINGS FIRST Arizona Department of Child Safety and Casey Family Programs to build the capacity of Family Resource Centers in Arizona and meet the needs of families across the state. We are thankful to Prevent Child Abuse Arizona and its partners for making this work possible. When families get what they need, when they need it, children thrive. Check out the Arizona Family Resource Center Landscape Study to learn more about this important work: https://lnkd.in/gqd6gyuE #PCAAmerica #PrimaryPreventionEcosystem #PreventionIsPossible #ChildWellbeing #PCAANorthStar #PCAArizona #Prevention #ChildAbusePrevention #FamilyResourceCenter #Partnership

A pitch to pitch in this #NationalFosterCareMonth! Children that happen to have contact with the foster care system are a) #children and b) children equally deserving of care and support in a #family unit. Some need temporary support, others need more, but each of them in their own way contribute to the champions that partner with them. And there is something everyone can do to pitch in to the solution. In the abundance of our existence, it is a travesty that the brilliance of some children is dimmed through no fault of their own. Worst, the internalization of this neglect sometimes leads to cerebral and mental health degeneration that compounds over time. Ways to help one or more foster care children - 1. There are about 3.5 million households in LA County. About 30,000 children, plus or minus, in foster care, a fraction of them in search of adoption. Of the 3.5 million households, if you are a household that can provide a loving environment, consider learning more about adoption with an organization like Hillsides. 2. Adopting isn't the only way to help. Consider learning more about being a resource family for a foster care child that needs a temporary accommodation. 3. You can help in other ways, too. You can be part of all those success stories you see and hear about in the news! Can your work team or school sponsor a drive to gather new toiletries or coats or duffel bags that will go to an organization supporting foster care youth? Can your family or friend group commit to gathering $100 worth of pre-teen or teen related fun items (like board games, journals, gift cards) to offer a sense of normalcy during the holidays? Can you donate your hard-earned money to an organization like Hillsides toward the eventual success story of one of these children? Giving is one of the most fulfilling acts. However it is you have thought about pitching in, if you haven't or haven't in a while - I encourage you to get involved today! Learn more at hillsides.org/get-involved
✨ May is #NationalFosterCareMonth, and we want to extend our deepest gratitude to the incredible resource and adoptive families who open their hearts and homes to children and youth in need. Your decision to support and love a child is truly profound, and we salute each and every one of you for your empathy, compassion, and dedication. Thank you for #CreatingLastingChange in the lives of children. 💙 https://lnkd.in/g-kvKPWY #FosterToAdopt #NationalFosterCareMonth #FosterCareAwareness #ThankYouResourceFamilies
