📢 Join Us at CAFEO 42 – ASEAN Renewable Energy Certificates: Myth or Reality Asia Carbonx Change is proud to announce that our Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Ir. Nirinder Singh Johl, will be speaking at CAFEO 42 today at 9:30 AM in Kota Kinabalu. Ir. Nirinder will be delivering a presentation on the critical topic of ASEAN Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) – Myth or Reality, shedding light on the role RECs play in ASEAN’s journey toward a sustainable energy future. ASEAN is undergoing a dynamic energy transition, with renewable energy taking center stage in national and regional policies. RECs, as market-based instruments, are helping to facilitate this transition by providing a structured approach to verify and trade renewable energy attributes. Our CEO will cover several key aspects during the session: - Understanding RECs in ASEAN: Ir. Nirinder will provide insights into how RECs work and their importance in supporting renewable energy across ASEAN’s interconnected grids. He will explain how RECs allow corporates and governments to meet their sustainability goals, even across borders. - Challenges vs Reality : While RECs offer a powerful tool for reducing carbon footprints, myths surrounding market readiness, policy support, and infrastructure remain. Ir. Nirinder will debunk these myths and present a balanced view on the progress made and the challenges that need to be addressed, including the importance of policy support for long-term energy agreements and resource nationalism. - Stakeholder Involvement: The success of RECs in ASEAN hinges on the active participation of governments, corporate buyers, utility providers, and financial institutions. Ir. Nirinder will highlight the opportunities for these stakeholders to collaborate in growing a robust REC market, drawing from the ASEAN Power Grid and the Lao PDR-Thailand-Malaysia-Singapore Power Integration Project (LTMS-PIP) as examples. - The Future of RECs: As the region works toward a sustainable future, RECs are increasingly becoming a reality, not just a myth. With the demand for renewable energy rising and initiatives like RE100 pushing for 100% renewable electricity, RECs are crucial for enabling energy transition, both regionally and globally. We invite all attendees of CAFEO 42 to join **Ir. Nirinder Singh Johl** for this engaging and forward-looking session. Let’s explore together how RECs can help shape the future of energy in ASEAN. Join us at Paper 15 today to learn how Asia Carbonx Change is playing a pivotal role in the renewable energy movement and how RECs can be leveraged for a cleaner, greener ASEAN. #CAFEO42 #AsiaCarbonXChange #RECs #ASEAN #Sustainability #RenewableEnergy #CleanEnergy #CarbonReduction #EnergyTransition #EngineeringLeadership #GreenEnergy --- 📅 Event: CAFEO 42 📍 Location: Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia 🕒 Time: 9:30 AM, Paper 15 - “ASEAN Renewable Energy Certificates – Myth or Reality”
