Did you know that women ask for things in a very different way to men in general. We are conditioned differently through our whole lives. Good girls don't ask. They wait to receive it. They apologise for asking. They indirectly make requests or trade. They might even complain as a way to get what they want. "Sorry but can I just ask..." instead of just asking. "Hey I am swamped at the moment", instead of "Sorry I can't take more on, in fact, I would like you to take some work off me so I can get this delivered" "Oh is it really cold in here?" instead of "It is cold. I am going to put some heating on" "Bad girls" are direct. They are pushy. They are rude. In fact they are just empowered women acting exactly the same way as their male counterparts. So, it is no surprise that women find it hard to find the balance between asking for what they want and coming across as brash or rude. In this week's episode of the #sayitsister podcast, we delve into getting clear about asking for what you want, need, or desire. Next week we will give you the practical steps to saying it out loud #goodgirl #badgirl #podcast #empowerment #equality #allies #professionalwomen #womeninbusiness #womeninleadership Karen Heras-Kelly CPCC PCC

Dive into our newest episode where we delve deep into the vibrant spectrum of asexuality with the incredible Yasmin! 🌈 She not only shares her personal journey towards activism but also sheds light on the paramount significance of representation and intersectionality within the asexual community. Here are the top highlights: 💜 Asexuality is a sexual orientation characterised by experiencing little to no sexual attraction towards others, regardless of gender. 💜 Asexuality is often overlooked or misunderstood within the LGBTQ+ community and society at large. 💜 Yasmin faced challenges in accepting her asexuality due to societal pressure and misconceptions about asexuality. Acceptance of asexuality can be a personal journey, and individuals may face challenges in coming out, particularly for those from diverse backgrounds. 💜 Asexuality is not limited to a lack of sexual attraction but can also involve a lack of romantic attraction (aromanticism). 💜 Societal changes are needed to accommodate asexuality, including recognition and protection under the law. 💜 Being a better ally to the asexual community involves expanding one's understanding of sexuality and incorporating asexuality into conversations about sexual orientation. https://lnkd.in/eyNm6U-v #asexual #asexuality #lgbtq+ #aromantic #relationships

📣 New Podcast Episode Alert: Not 4 Prophets - S2 Ep7 📣 🎙️ The Perception & Challenges for Black Women in Nonprofits 🗓️ July 29, 2024 ⏳ 34 mins 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eDJmbPhy “And that's what I think is so heartbreaking and sad about it. There are Black women that really do want to thrive in these workspaces, because it's something that they're really passionate about. On the other side, we know that Black women are going to be gaslit, we know that Black women are going to be told like in every which way that they are missing the mark. And to keep having to fight back, push and push and push and then have so few allies in these spaces. It's untenable. It's such a heavy burden to carry. And I am in this space where I want Black women to be healthy, whole, happy and joyful.” - Trenia Parham In this episode of "Not 4 Prophets," I have the honor of interviewing Trenia Parham of Sustainable Leadership Coaching, where she shares the unique and often challenging experiences of Black women in the nonprofit sector.
