Bredec Group Bredec Group Ask HN: What are real costs of an internal developer portal?: Does your company use a service catalog / internal developer portal such as Backstage We are evaluating the cost of deploying Backstage and maintaining it over time. There are many articles online about how companies elect to use Backstage over building from scratch, but these seldom include details such as - what customizations were required? - how large was the team for initial implementation? - how long did initial implementation take? - how many engineers are now required to maintain the application and respond to support, new feature requirements? - what other (surprise?) costs were involved? Anyone able to share figures or estimates from their own experiences? If possible, please include the size of your org (in terms of engineers and/or number of components). --- Comments URL: https://lnkd.in/d36j8HGi Points: 1 # Comments: 0 info@bredec.com Inquiry@bredec.com

Bruce Perens "announced Open Source" 26 years ago 🎂 He is now very critical about what failed 🔥 We often praise Open Source as highly successful. That's undeniable. But the other side of the coin is that about license #Compliance and #Sustainability. I can confirm these are two major issues when doing business with #OSS. Please read the slides and contemplate on what the present is, and what the future can be like. As Alan Kay coined it: "The best way to predict the future is to invent it". As it our open-source future. https://lnkd.in/ecxscCAD
