🌍✨ Excited to share my experience attending a guest lecture by the insightful Luca Bertuzzi, a leading voice on digital policy in Europe! Huge thanks to my instructor, Anny Tubbs, for arranging this fantastic opportunity. As a non-EU student, this lecture opened my eyes to the intricacies of digital regulation, especially the different approaches taken by the US, China, and the EU. One of my biggest takeaways was the importance of user empowerment in the EU's regulatory model, which emphasizes individual rights and privacy through frameworks like the GDPR. Luca's discussion about a good regulation was particularly enlightening. It’s clear that while regulations are necessary to address the complexities of digital technology, maintaining a pro-innovation narrative is crucial for fostering a healthy tech ecosystem. Plus, I was relieved when he clarified my confusion between the Digital Services Act (DSA) and the AI Act! It’s reassuring to know that even as I navigate these concepts, there are experts out there ready to help clear up the fog! 🚀📚
