First, I would stop poisoning my body with processed foods and synthetic ingredients. Next, I would plan 3-4 simple meals per day focused on single ingredient whole food items. I would not cut out carbohydrates, fats, meats, or plants. I would choose the most nutrient dense foods from all categories and make these mainstays of my daily diet. I would eat approximately 1 gram of protein per pound of my goal bodyweight. Seasonal Eating for Fall - Every plant has a growing cycle, and when it reaches its growth maturity it’s harvested. It is at this point that the plant offers its best nutritional value as well as flavor. Seasonal eating is the practice of consuming produce that is at its peak in flavor and nutrition. Prior to the modern age, this was how people ate, i.e., they grew their food and harvested the food at the right time. They also foraged foods that grew wild in their local environments. When children are aged 2-3 years, they tend to go through a phase of eating about 5 foods total, and those foods tend to be nutrient-poor. A child with a “beige” diet (things like toast, chicken nuggets, pancakes, french fries, etc) will benefit from the addition of a multivitamin daily, so they don’t get nutrient depleted.
