➡️The Faculty of Engineering RITEH University of Rijeka has started modernizing the study programs of the Shipbuilding program, a profession that is nowadays extremely scarce in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, as the region has become a leading European center of shipbuilding engineering in the last ten years. 🚢The bearers of this activity in the Rijeka basin are numerous engineering design companies, more than 40 of them, whose needs for trained personnel are significant and ever-growing. At LDCK, MARITIME CENTER OF EXCELLENCE and NVL d.o.o., we have the utmost respect for all the companies that have been operating in our area for many years and recognize and support each other's competitive advantages. With this in mind, we are looking forward to mutual cooperation and jointly support the Technical Faculty in the continuous adjustment of study programs in order to follow the latest industry trends. 🤝 Prof. dr. Lado Kranjčević, the dean of the Faculty of Engineering in Rijeka, highlighted that the curriculum was modernized with the aim to harmonize studies with the strategies of the University and even better connect the learning process of modern knowledge with the demands and needs of the market, increase the number and quality of students through more intensive connection with the economy with the aim of acquiring practical competences of students. Furthermore, the new curriculum of shipbuilding studies will try to integrate the most modern laboratory equipment and professional shipbuilding software into the teaching process so that students with the acquired most modern knowledge can easily continue their careers in the market. 👩🎓 As a company, we maintain a close connection with the academic community to work together on the development of new highly qualified staff ready to respond to future market demands in the field of digital transformation and green transition in the maritime industry. Through the development of a micro-qualification program for our employees, final thesis topics and mentorship related to industry needs and relevant ongoing innovative projects and opportunities for student work, bachelors and graduates of the Technical Faculty in Rijeka have a unique opportunity to implement acquired theoretical knowledge in complex, interdisciplinary industry projects. 🎯 Through mentorship, education and opportunities for practical experience, we encourage students to grow and develop their skills, thus building the foundation for their successful career in the maritime industry. 🔗 More information at: https://lnkd.in/dsTYk5nX #academia #collaboration #LDCK #MCOE

🚀 Revolutionizing Welding Training in NSW, Australia. The NSW Department of Education is leading the way in modernizing welding training, addressing the critical shortage of over 70,000 welders that threatens the future of industries like Construction, Manufacturing, and Mining. Check out this video to hear from Principals, Teachers, Students, and the VET Curriculum Advisor Mrs. Amanda Sonntag about the strategic shift from traditional welding education to the safest, most efficient, and engaging training methodology in the world. Soldamatic - Official Weld Australia 🔧 "The virtual welding machines are fantastic. Students can practice without the dangers of real welding." ⏱️ "It's a time-saver. We can develop courses on the machines and review students' work." 👀 "We can see what students see through the mask and use the replay function to guide them." 🎉 "Using virtual welders is fun and engaging. It gave me more confidence to weld." 🏆 "It's fun to compare scores with friends and see who's the best." Watch the full video here: https://lnkd.in/d_FgPpwC

VILLAGE (VIRTUAL INNOVATIVE LEARNING LABORATORIES FOR GLOBAL ENGINEERING EDUCATION) PROJECT STARTED TO PROVIDE OUTPUTS The VILLAGE (Virtual Innovative Learning Laboratories for Global Engineering Education) project, implemented by Ege University, within the scope of the Horizon Europe program MSCA call, came into force in March 2023, receiving support for a period of 48 months. Partners of the project are Emoda Software (Turkey), DigiMindSphere (Italy), SquareDev (Greece), Kemijski inštitut - National Institute of Chemistry (Slovenia), Eolas S.L.(Spain), Azerbaijan State Agricultural University, ADAU (Azerbaijan), Munster Technological University (Ireland), RTU Liepāja (Latvia). Within the scope of the project, 23 exchanges have been completed so far, and 2 oral presentations at international conferences on the global examination of virtual laboratories in engineering education and 2 international workshops such as "Digital Learning for Engineering Laboratories" and "Instructional Design Models in Engineering Education" have been held. With the aim of reaching the project research results to a wider audience, the instructional design models database and the score ranking of these models were shared in the Zenodo open access digital archive (https://lnkd.in/dkkmP3yW). The project website has been designed where introductory information about the project and project results are shared up to date (https://lnkd.in/dhrFTB-q). Within the scope of the VILLAGE project, re-examining the post-pandemic teaching processes and laboratory applications needs of engineering faculty members and students in a multi-disciplinary, multi-dimensional cultural context, determining road maps for new teaching design models in line with the opinions, developing pilot virtual laboratories and learning materials, and effective and It is aimed to create sustainable teaching models. #villageproject #innovativelearning #vreducation
