Pitching Trailer Shoot #pitching #pitchingtrailer #trailer While learning at Sydney Film School, one thing I learnt the most is that while approaching potential investors/producers, a pitching trailer is must. I learned that in certain major productions such as Dreamworks Pitcutre, Warner Bros, Village roadshows and specifically 21st Century Fox/Fox Studios, whether you are a legendary film maker such as Steven Spielberg or Perter Jackson or you may be any new comer in the industry. Before you come to pitch, you need to have a bound script ready in industry format along with pitching trailer. If not, no matter how much maga star you are in the industry, you will not be entertained. Peter Jackson, even after giving huge blockbusters such as lord of the rings, still had to make a pitching trailer for District 9 for investors. Those learnings at film school have really shown some fruitful results while I shot my first pitching trailer.

Austin reels in top-5 rank among best cities for filmmakers in 2024 "[T]he city has more than 1,000 crew members, about 25 boutique production houses, and 18 production facilities — including two LED volume stages," the report said, noting the forthcoming Hill Country Studios, a $267 million production hub in the works between San Antonio and Austin. Also factored into Austin's top-five rank were major events like the Austin Film Festival and South by Southwest (SXSW) that draw in thousands of industry experts, filmmakers, and fans to the city every year. Notably absent from the report are Los Angeles and New York. MovieMaker famously excludes them from the big cities list — taking into consideration that both cities are already so packed full of industry creatives and opportunities — and instead focuses on more affordable places in North America. https://lnkd.in/gKPc7rnB

Walt Disney scored its second smash hit of the summer with its latest feature Deadpool & Wolverine, which hauled in $205 million in domestic box office sales on its first weekend. That makes it the biggest film debut this year. The first R-rated film for Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe also notched the eighth biggest opening weekend in box office history. It was the highest-ever opening for an R-rated movie and an economic boost for Hollywood, which is still trying to recover from last year’s writers’ and actors’ strikes. The movie industry racked up total estimated North American box office sales of $277.5 million for the weekend. That brings total sales for this year so far to $4.69 billion, according to Comscore.
