What connects a bustling square in Bogotá, a revolution in Central Asia, and an ancient showdown between gods in Israel? In my latest essay, I explore the intricate relationship between history, political thought, and spirituality, demonstrating how these diverse narratives converge to offer profound lessons on the necessity of plurality and diversity in state institutions and discourse. From the Cry for Independence in 1810 to the Tulip Revolution in Kyrgyzstan, and the biblical confrontation between Elijah and the prophets of Baal, I delve into the enduring struggle against ideological polarisation and authoritarianism. What can these pivotal moments teach us about building a future grounded in inclusivity, justice, and democracy? I invite you to read my essay and reflect on the importance of safeguarding diverse narratives and upholding democratic values in today’s world. https://lnkd.in/eE7at824
