On World Creativity and Innovation Day, we took a moment to celebrate our journey in revolutionizing the packaging coating landscape with our BPA-free developments. 💡 - In May 2023, we introduced Accelshield™ 700 – our groundbreaking internal BPX-Ni coating designed specifically for can ends. This innovative coating is compatible with a wide range of beverages, including those with high acidity or requiring high-temperature sterilization processes like yoghurt drinks, milk, and coffee. - In November 2023, we proudly unveiled Accelstyle™️ 100 and 200, our external waterborne gloss and matte overprint varnishes (OPVs) for can bodies. Not only are these coatings free from bisphenols, but they also steer clear of styrene and PFAS, addressing additional environmental concerns. What's next? 🤔 We're excited to announce that several other new coatings are currently undergoing rigorous testing, with anticipated approvals on the horizon! This guideline sets a new standard in plastic closure quality and precision, offering valuable insights and best practices to the industry. Closure Ovality, the distortion of closures from their ideal round shape, often leads to confusion, misunderstandings, and assumptions that negatively affect production and packaging processes. This new publication serves to clarify the reasons behind closure ovality, how it occurs after manufacturing, and the factors that contribute to ovalization during transport. It also outlines the acceptable levels of ovality within the industry, providing a clear standard for manufacturers and suppliers. The publication is designed not only to benefit equipment suppliers, but also closure suppliers, beverage industry professionals, and consumer packagers. It offers a valuable tool for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to ensure that their equipment is designed to meet the industry's ovality standards. This release marks a significant advancement for the beverage industry, setting a clear standard that will help improve quality control and communication across the supply chain.
