🚀 Excited to share my recent experience participating in Bolt 2.0, as part of the ic-ETITE'24 Conference, where I chose to dive into the Open Innovation track in a dynamic hackathon! 🌟 From 22-23 February 2024, my team and I delved into a 28-hour hackathon adventure, driven by the passion for creating impactful solutions. Our focus on the Open Innovation track was deliberate, as we aimed to tackle a pressing issue: E-waste management. 💡 Our project idea revolved around building a user-friendly website aiming to empower individuals to sell their electronic waste directly to responsible companies. The goal? To eliminate middlemen, ensure fair pricing, and promote proper disposal of e-waste materials. 🌐 One of the key features of our project was its emphasis on transparency and accuracy. Users could specify the defects or issues in their electronic items, along with the years of usage, ensuring that the evaluation process was thorough and reliable. Moreover, our platform incorporated expert verification during the collection phase to validate the stated conditions. 🔍 But here's the game-changer: We didn't stop at devices. Recognizing the environmental hazard posed by discarded batteries and cells, we devised a mechanism to enable users to sell these components at a fixed price. This not only addresses a critical aspect of waste management but also encourages responsible disposal practices. 🔄 Collaborating with a dedicated team of three, I had the opportunity to contribute to the backend development of the website. It was an exhilarating experience, combining innovation, teamwork, and a shared commitment to making a difference. 💪 A huge shoutout to my incredible teammates and everyone involved in organizing this fantastic event! Just had my employee bio added to our company page and it got me thinking why does every company add a team page on their website? Well, it did make me feel good when I saw my bio live on the FreightVana company page. Seeing my journey and contributions highlighted makes me feel truly valued and part of a kick ass team! I also learned a thing or two about my collegues! When I was working on my bio I needed some inspiration, so I took a peak at what others said. It helped me foster a deeper relationship with them and build a stronger sense of community. It is with immense joy that we would like to share the arrival of Romano Garcia to the Advisory Board of Bus2. He brings with him over 25 years of experience in the financial and mobility sectors, in commercial, management, and negotiation positions. In addition, he has worked at Empresa1 and Goal Systems and, recently, became the head of international business at Transdata. Romano joins Bus2 with the goal of contributing to the process of market expansion abroad, a strategy we began in 2023 with our presence at the UITP Summit, the largest public transportation fair in the world. Bus2 has already reserved a stand for the next edition in 2025, in Hamburg, Germany. To understand this appointment, it is important to highlight the professional relationship of over 20 years between Romano and Marco Littig, CEO of Bus2, and, more recently, the work done by Goal Systems—with Romano leading the General Management for Brazil—for the client GVBus, from Vitória (ES), in delivering demand-based optimization. Romano credits the success of this project to the intelligence employed by Bus2 in integrating different data sources. "Because it does things differently from what is seen and discussed in the sector so far, in data integration at different levels, I see Bus2 as one of the leading technology companies for public transportation in the next five years, and I want to be part of this growth by bringing my experience from other markets," says Romano.
