Last week we celebrated - and we are still celebrating - the 10th anniversary of DoorBird! Our hearts are full with gratitude as we reflect on this incredible journey. The warm, thoughtful wishes from our partners, colleagues, and customers have touched us, and we’re thankful for the support. This anniversary is not just a celebration of our past but also a vision for our future. Over the last decade, DoorBird has grown from an idea to a global leader in smart intercom technology, and we couldn’t have done it without the trust and collaboration of our amazing community. But this is just the beginning! We’re more committed than ever to pushing boundaries, innovating, and meeting the evolving needs of our customers. Here’s to the next chapter. 🎉🥂

Apparently today is my 5th Anniversary at Metrikus 🎈 So it feels apt to share 5 things I’ve learned along the way: 1. What the novelist E. L. Doctorow said about writing applies to startups too ‘it’s like driving a car at night. You never see further than your headlights but you can make the whole trip that way.’ You need to know where you are going, but you’ll never know the obstacles you’re going to face on the way there and that’s ok. *cough* Covid-19 *cough* 2. The energy you bring as a leader is contagious - be that good or bad. Lead with the energy you want to see reflected back. 3. Managing is not just a title it’s a job. It seems simple, but not enough people realise this. 4. The successful companies won’t be the ones with the coolest most advanced tech. They will be the ones who deeply understand the customer and relentlessly solve for pain points. Innovation without insight is just noise. 5. Most companies are underutilising their marketing department. I’m fortunate to be part of a team that gets it—but because of that, I see just how much potential is being wasted in other companies. To pick only 5 is a very large task as I can pretty honestly say I learn something every day, so these may not be the top 5 but they are the ones that come to mind. Feeling very grateful for the opportunities I’ve received and the people I’ve had the pleasure of working with over these years. Here’s to the next 5! 🚀

All true in my opinion.

We started Simply Technologies in February 2011 together with Alexander Adamyan Some things remained unchanged over these 13 years: our core values, ambitious projects, great partners worldwide, a rockstar team. What has changed? A lot… but today I would like to share my toughts about the three stages of the evolution of my perception of company success: ❌Profitability - this is a very important measure, but too obvious to be true. It puts the company and the team on different sides of the table. ❌ Revenue - this will put the company and your team on the same side of the table but leave your clients/partners on the opposite side in a lot of cases. ✅ Reputation - is the main metric for me now. It covers the above two in the long-term perspective and allows to set better common goals with the team, clients and partners. However, it is a way more complex task to measure a company's reputation than the profit or revenue. Probably I’ll talk about my ways of measuring the company's reputation in another post to keep this one short. Happy 13th anniversary to all Simply Technologies partners, clients and the team!

5 learnings from starting a multifamily business 10 years ago from our COO, Ani Rangarajan: ▶ Focus on Product-Market Fit: Even a niche focus (like multifamily within real estate) can drive greater success ▶ Build with a Co-Founder: Having a committed partner is crucial in navigating the challenges of starting a business ▶ Be Patient: Success takes time. Plan for delays and extend your timelines accordingly ▶ Sell and Listen First: Before building a sales team, understand what messages resonate, what clients will pay, and which features matter most ▶ Embrace Iteration: Aim for "great," not "perfect." Release, gather feedback, and iterate to avoid product paralysis Follow along as we wrap up our 10th anniversary celebration tomorrow!

Such an exciting 10 years it's been! It's been a delight to be a part of the Flywheel team these last 2.5 years. Given the rate of innovation, new thinking, and adaptation to an evolving market that I've witnessed, it leaves me wishing I could have been a part of the prior 7.5 years! In a small way I was. Hackathons... IYKYK. Back when we'd all get together, a mix of industry experts, problem solvers, hackers, and even those who couldn't quite find their feet yet in the space. It was INCREDIBLE to learn how we could win with our brands. Those aha moments when you finally understand the root issue, when it clicks! Truth is, the landscape may have changed, but the challenges remain! Brands are still trying to win, get that leg-up, be a first mover, or maybe just get their IDQ up so their merchant gets off their back. The number of hurdles with selling products online hasn't gone down, but we've created better tools, internal trainings, leveraged AI and deployed automation to streamline solving problems so we can get teams back to focusing on strategy. I'm excited to say, that Flywheel hasn't changed either, we're just as rabid (an internal Flywheel'ism) to get after solving the most complicated problems. So to reiterate, I'm delighted to be at Flywheel and proud of our 10 year anniversary! Please reach out if you want to discuss how we can help you or your brands win online! To 10 years 🥂
10 years of innovation... and we're just getting started!
