Reflecting on Yesterday's alumni meeting has been a heartfelt reminder of how Azim Premji University has shaped my life and career. It’s not just the education but the relationships with professors, peers, and the larger APU community that have left a lasting impact. The bonds with our professors mattered the most—they weren’t just mentors in academics but guides in life, whose deep work and unwavering support made all the difference. For me, APU was truly a turning point. From my Field Immersion experiences, which provided diverse exposure to cultures, traditions, and state organograms, to transitioning from being a Teacher to my current role as an Assistant Manager, it has been a 360-degree transformation. As an APU candidate, I gained my first 180-degree shift in perspective, and after becoming a part of the alumni network, the other 180 degrees completed the circle, shaping my personal and professional outlook. Looking back, I deeply wish I could revisit those days—to attend every single class in person and fully immerse myself in the enriching ambience of the campus, something our batch couldn't always experience. Yet, the experiences we had were transformational, leaving us with a lifelong sense of purpose. As alumni, we carry forward the legacy of APU by sharing ideas, mentoring others, and collaborating on meaningful initiatives. If you’re someone passionate about education, development, public policy, governance, LLM, or even undergraduate studies in diverse fields, APU offers an incredible platform to explore your potential and make a difference. As the saying goes, “Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself.” Here’s to continuing this journey, nurturing connections, and creating meaningful impact as part of this extraordinary community. LIFE LESSONS FROM “STUDENT FEST 2023-24” AT HCU At HCU, I’ve encountered many brilliant minds, intelligent fellow mates, and those still exploring their paths, and learning at their own pace. It’s a rich student culture with a diverse set of existence established in the campus. While this may not sound professional, I want to share few lessons and experiences from the fest with you all. · Following the society and donating for a good cause enhances our positivity and realise value of the money we hold. Happiness truly exists within. · Taking a course or doing any task with breaks would yield more productive outcome rather than working on a goal oriented or target approach. Sometimes, Taking a break and detaching from everything enables to turning back with more zeal and involvement. · Very few or none are concerned about you during your hard times. However, a good number of people join hands to achieve common goals or happy moments with you. · Caring what others think might be one of the silliest thing we do. Have to overcome all such barriers and must enjoy to our fullest. · Dancing happily is one of the greatest healing technique to experience extreme joyfulness. Makes us forget our worries, deadlines, good and bad etc…… · People will come and leave. stays for a shorter time. but right now your presence it utmost importance to me at this moment, in this second. · Kindness inspires. Entertainment excites. Memories remains. Being a sincere introvert, experienced something for the first time in my life. I danced in a huge crowd at the ground for a long time. I felt like another soul has entered my body allowing me to experience the deep joyfulness. Danced with strangers, made friends, and felt grateful for others who joined in with me. Someone said, “You can also enjoy equally with us” inspired me and made me to feel inclusive. I cannot forget this day. Really glad to attend the event at University of Hyderabad SUKOON GROUND. #StudentFest #Sukoon #LifeLearnings #Memory #BeautifulMoments #Joyfulness.

The Olympics were actually 3 years ago and not 4 years ago because of covid19 disruptions. Rai Benjamin class of 2015 Mt. Vernon High School is one of the state of New York's Greatest of All Time Athletes. He set the New York State 400mh record in 2015 and it still stands today. At the Tokyo 2020 Olympics he captured Silver in the 400mh and his recent performances show that he is aiming for Gold at these 2024 Olympics. I had the pleasure of watching Rai compete against some of our high school athletes over the years. There are now P-TECH high school graduates across all 10 economic regions of the state of New York. MDRC P-TECH 9-14 Pathways to Success Implementation, Impact, and Cost Findings from the New York City P-TECH 9-14 Schools Evaluation New findings in this report indicate that the P-TECH model increased students' postsecondary degree completion, particularly for male students, and boosted internship and dual enrollment rates, even during the pandemic. "By the end of the first year of postsecondary education, 2.6 percent of female and 1.8 percent of male P-TECH 9-14 students had earned degrees, compared with virtually no students from the comparison group, of either gender. These impacts for both genders are statistically significant". "Male students who had the chance to attend P-TECH 9-14 schools were more likely to attain college degrees than male students assigned to other kinds of schools". https://lnkd.in/eQBKPNsA #WeArePTECH #skillsbuild #skillsfirst #skills2030 www.ptech.org

As we step into 2025, I'm excited to share some personal and professional goals that will help guide my journey throughout the year. My focus is on growth in various areas of my life: Relationship with God: Prioritizing prayer, Bible reading, and consistent thanksgiving. Listening more to God before making any decisions. Relationship with Others: Building meaningful friendships in church, school, and beyond. Practicing humility and respect. Enhancing my musical talent through consistent practice, investing in equipment (drum pad, sticks), and learning a new song each week. Education: Attending most classes, submitting assignments on time, and working towards excellent grades. Securing internships and aiming to graduate with a strong academic record. Extracurricular Activities: Participating in more Christian programs and making necessary investments in my personal growth.
