In honor of this upcoming #Thanksgiving here is our video project which celebrates the many benefits each of us receive when we give thanks. Below are a few other benefits of a grateful heart. IMPROVED MOOD: Gratitude can make people feel happier and more positive. BETTER HEALTH: Grateful people tend to have lower blood pressure, more energy, and less depression and stress. They also tend to take better care of themselves, such as by eating healthy foods, exercising, and seeing a doctor regularly. BETTER RELATIONSHIPS: Gratitude can lead to better relationships because it increases the production of oxytocin, which is sometimes called the "bonding hormone". REDUCED ANXIETY: Gratitude can help lower stress levels and reduce anxiety. IMPROVED SLEEP: Practicing gratitude before bed can help improve sleep quality. BETTER OUTLOOK: Gratitude can help people maintain a positive outlook, even in uncertain situations. SLOWS AGING: In older adults, practicing gratitude can slow down some of the effects of aging.
