Well, I represent Marriott, and I have not one but two amazing relationships with a DOS from Hyatt and one from Hilton!! Did I mention that we're all in the same comp set? Charleston is a growing market, and the honest truth is that we can't take it all, no matter how much we try. Service is Black and White, Hospitality Is Color.   I just started to read Will Guidara's book, Unreasonable Hospitality, and it has started off with a bang! One of his favorite questions to ask is, "What's the difference between service and hospitality?" He mentioned the best answer was from someone he hired, as she said, "Service is black and white; hospitality is color." Meaning service is doing your job, what you get paid to do as you do it with competence. The color part means you make people feel special about the job you're doing for them. Here at Selling From the Heart, we call these, Inspirational Experiences. My question to you... How are you showing up for your clients? To quote Will Guidara, "Getting the right plate to the right person at the right table is service. But genuinely engaging with the person you're serving, so you can make an authentic connection - that's hospitality." In today's business world, service is just not enough. Brien Arone wears a bow tie and has a signature pose for all pics Hilton Hotels & Resorts via Nolan Lazarus launched a contest for planners to share "That Meeting That Meant Everything" contest in honor of Global Meetings Industry Day and are awarding 1 million Hilton points for the best story. Christina Dallas Jones, CMP and the team at Cambria Nashville Downtown created a full calendar where the sale team made me laugh for 12 months straight. The world is flooded with boring people doing mundane things. Being memorable in the marketplace is so important to stay on the radar of your customers and vendors.
